Unfortunately we dodged that particular bullet by stepping into the path of the Dum Dum known as Stale Solbakken.
And then the armour piercing .50 calibre, otherwise known as Dean
We may well have been better off just taking the bullet?
Can’t imagine he’d have done worse than Dum Dum and Eye of the Tiger.
Surely no idiot wanted him in charge at Wolves?
admitting it is half the battle dude
thats what my ex said to me....the 2nd half of the battle was the divorce courts
Wolfgang what on earth are you playing at?!?!??!
I wouldn’t expect a rooky mistake like that from you. If you back a horse on here and the horse turns out to be a donkey you can’t just come out and admit it!
First pretend he was one of a number of people you suggested for the job and never your out and out favourite, after that make it clear that he was perfect for the job when you suggested him for it but that he has been ruined by/unlucky with what’s happened to him since, next claim that even if he is shít he’d have been less shít than Mick McCarthy and if that fails to convince people balme the fans, when that doesn’t work call me a derogatory name in the hope it will deflect attention away from you.
Come on mate, sort yourself out!
Football manager loses job shocker absolute failure for rest of career!!!!
For the record, I didn't want Kenny jackett, felt he was just a safe option that long term won't give us what we need.
You may bookmark this for once we hit the prem under his guidance
Tatter, I think I can justifiably claim diminished responsibility if you take into account I went for him at a time when we had suffered TC, SS and Clownders.
A fait point Wolfgang. You were suffering from PTSD (Post Traumatic Solbakken Disorder) and that is often used as a defence or mitigation in trials to explain people acting in an atypical way!
If you cast your mind back, Wolfgang lost the plot under Mick, he even asked for his head(along with many others who now tell a different story)
The problem O'Driscoll has is that his methodology and ethos is better suited to a higher calibre of players mainly technical.
He either needs someone to take a chance on him at a bigger club with a decent resources (Not going to happen).
A club with patience (Not many of these about)
Or a club who shares his views in youth development or style (crewe type club) or has implemented a similar style to his in recent times (Wigan).
He's effectively in no man's land, his achievements at Doncaster, where he was given time, isn't how football clubs are run in the main and the bigger clubs won't take a chance on him because he's relatively unproven especially when it comes to having an immediate impact that clubs seek now.
He's only left with finding a lower league club who has an emphasis on technical development with a youth set-up but these clubs tend to recruit from within on a conveyer type system.
So he can either turn to coaching or take a job with a club, likely lower leagues, that will end in tears because they neither have the set-up, players, finances or patience.
Shame because when you look at the facts, unlike some of the comments on here, he is a decent football manager with the right ideas.
I don’t remember Wolfgang calling for MM to go but if he did that’s fine it’s a free country isn’t it? He is just as entitled to be wrong about sacking one manager as he is to be wrong about employing another one.
For what it's worth, in hindsight, I think he would have been a better choice than Solbakken.
Similar methods but SOD had better knowledge of the league and players and our club and rise and fall and the problems that would come with it before taking the job.
And that is the story of football.
So many things wrong with the management merry go round you could write a book.
Failure at a club leaves many fans with little intelligence shouting failure from the roof tops despite the million different scenarios that unfold on a day to day basis behind closed doors that the fans will never know of.
Patience is the only obvious approach for chairmen, but in todays now now now world that rarely happens.
It wasn't a dig tats..............was saying that he lost the plot prior to when he said, tis all.
Wish we could dig up that thread after the WBA game, maybe my memory is failing me.
No need really Cinci I’m sure we all know what we said straight after that game.
I said MM should go at the end of the season regardless of whether he kept us up or not but that I still thought he was our best hope for that season.
I’ve also been honest since then and admitted that if we had survived I’d probably have changed my mind and called for him to stay.
You only need to dig up quotes when dealing with the posters that have an honesty deficiency.
Did you want MM to stay after the Blackburn defeat Tatter?
Couldn't agree more Tats, but the downfall of 12 yards saved some blushes thats for sure.
I wanted him sacked after the Wigan game, ironically we won that game but were shambolic and to me it was clear he no longer had the players with him.
I never called for Mick to go prior to his sacking Cinci, what I did say was that it was understandable that he got the push given the results he was getting and losing 1-5 at home to Albion

I didn't OD2M, though i would say the final outcome did indeed paper over the substantial cracks of that days performance, we were pretty much a disgrace but got away with it.
