Yeah agreed and I would say if we are not making CL this season (highly unlikely) I would prefer us too miss out on Europa as well!
AVB does need to review the tactics a bit , Id be tempted to give Sigurdson the old Bale Role .

Centrally?
Yeah I agree, he took up some good positions against City and I think he had our only real shot on target against Pantyilmillions
Thudd , why AVB does not start him all the time baffles me.
It's because we have 3 CAM's now, in Eriksen, Holtby and Siggy, where before we had none!
THudd
Good article, and maybe put to bed all this AVB out nonsense, although mostly generated by the gutter press. Brazil on Talkshitte today seemed to be getting on as many ex Spurs people to bad mouth AVB has he could, he really is a complete tool. At the same time sucking up to United by continually saying Davy and Wayne when talking about their manager and players. WTF has he such an agenda against Spurs?
Chris H
Are there ANY Spurs fans who'd genuinely want AVB sacked today?
Chicken for one definitely does. He wanted him out from day one.
Thudd the other 2 are not that good.
Siggy is one of the few players who has been scoring goals. He should have been given a chance in the number 10 role before being dropped, just as Townsend should have been tried on the left before being dropped against City.
I really rated Eriksen at Ajax, he was a class act, again the different in leagues is apparent
Siggy Star Dust - ICEMAN
I have resigned myself to this season as damage control - 67th
You may not be too far wrong.
Eriksen may come good yet. For now it's still a relatively new league for him to settle down in, and AVB has been making quite a few changes to the team from week to week in the midfield. That's only going to make it more difficult to settle.
I really hope we don't get torn apart against United, they looked good last night with a bunch of 2nd string players in Evans, Smalling, Nani, Giggs, and others that haven't started much in Jones, Kagawa ect!

Santini and Ramos, tatical gods
The way it's been going with United, they appear to have a similar problem to us with managing Europe and the league. They play well midweek and then play poorly the following game in the league, or vice versa. Makes me hope we have a really rubbish game in Tromso.
Though if we play our reserves it shouldn't make a difference.

It will be interesting the results and perfomances of the clubs in the European competitions once the Winter break in the ECL and Europa cup comes up.
For 10 weeks or so the advantage in fixture congestion for Liverpool is no more. The clubs in Europe will be more used to playing 3 games in a week than Liverpool ,so they may cope better with the Christmas fixture list.
Come mid Feb we will then know if Liverpool's lack of European competition has been positive for them
Ossie
It was exciting to watch though
I think it's a huge positive for LFC, seeing as they only have FA Cup and League to concentrate on, Suarez and Studge are class!

There are negatives to us not playing as many games I would say. Our players won't be as match fit and sometimes waiting a whole week can let a poor result linger or a good result fade. Obviously it can work vice versa as well. Though our players are less likely to get injured and will feel fresh for each game and our squad players will get less of a chance to play and will find it harder to hit the ground running in a Prem game.
