I don't get the anti-Lampatd stance to be honest, I don't see how he has been any worse than any other of our CM players this season, in fact I think he is by far our best passer under pressure of the three players that play that role...........

In an ideal world we would have a much stronger CM that Lampard would not be able to play in, but the reality is we are terribly weak in this area and Lampard is still one of our best options to choose from ................the cupboard is very bare...

It's easy to blame Lampard, who was poor against Basle, but our problems in central midfield are not his sole responsibility. Both Essien and Lampard are obviously past their best. MVG, regardless of injury, is unproven and Ramires/Mikel is a deeply flawed partnership as well. None of the combinations we have are particularly imposing and that's the clubs fault for not properly reinforcing in he summer.

I keep saying it but the 30 million we spent on Willian, as promising as is, would have been immeasurably better spent on a deep lying playmaker who can control the tempo of a game from deep - it isn't Lampard's fault that we didn't do that.

Agree that Mourinho made a big mistake not bringing in a new CM. We can only speculate how much MVG would have featured, and if he was going to work with MVG to mould him into his next Lampard (which looked very possible from his performances for Holland u21 in the summer), but we definitely now need to invest in a new CM in January.

Lampard is a legend and always will be.

However he is passed his best and now being played in a formation behind three AMs that doesn't suit his game.

I feel that unless we go back to 433 we won't see the best of what Frank has left to offer!

Lampard is a Chelsea great one of ny favourite players of all time but that doesn't mean that we should not feel disappointed that he is starting every game.

The fact that we complain about Lampard starting doesn't mean that we don't appreciate him and what he has done for us, we have seen the best of Lampard like Man United have seen the best of Giggs so fans have every right to be disappointed

But playing Oscar / Luiz there is because we have no midfielders
