I tweeted : Wigan 1 Derby 3 take notice.. @JohnHartson10 @dcfcofficial #disrespectful
He tweeted: As a club derby were fantastic to me when putting on my charity match just don't think they will go up this season.. It's only an opinion..
Then I put:@JohnHartson10 fair enough but that's not what you said on national tv! Lazy commentary i'd say,how many rams games you been to this season?
Love to prove him wrong
John Hartson has never liked Derby since Stimac got him sent off at the BBG when he was playing for West Ham
I'm sorry to say this but I think John Hartson is right. I can see us just falling short at the end of the season and GSE selling Jeff Hendrick, Will Hughes, Craig Bryson and Mason Bennett. The problem is all the proceeds will be heading straight back to the US.
Richmond, hughes aside, I think the rest will stay if we just miss out to finish the job and go up auto next season.
What is nice is that there is £20million worth of talent in just those 4 players.

Sorry Richmond, but that just doesn't make any sense at all. Why should they suddenly now turn to short-termism, just two months after a major about-turn regarding the management? As far as loans are concerned they have backed McClaren to the hilt.
Perhaps it would be wise to see just what kind of backing comes Steve's way come January for a start?
Hit return too soon.
What I meant to add, Richmond, is that getting £20m in (and that might be an underestimation) would nowhere near repay their overall investment - and yet the club would be back to square one again. Cashing in now would be insane.
We were talking among ourselves on the way back. If Derby are in a strong position come January 1st....whos to say GSE wont invest heavily and go for broke? If they can go one way according to some...can they not go the other way too?
Worse case scenario:
Bennett: 4 million
Hughes: 12 million
Bryson: 4 million
Hendrick 4 million
Ward: 2 million
$26 Million
$18 million goes to the states.
We buy Cork for 3 million to play alongside James Bailey. Brayford for £750,000 for Wisdom, Hanson steps up to take over from Bucko. Russell and Dawkins hold down the attacking MF positions and a resurgent Jacobs.
Then we just need to find a box to box MF maybe rebuild Chalobah's career after Forest nearly ruined him couple of good loans in again with the remaining money and just pip Fulham to the automatic promotion spot next year.
As worst case scenarios go, it's not a bad 'un. .

OOE, I get the impression that our investors would like to see some kind of return on their money and I get the feeling that we will fall short this season. I'm sorry but I don't trust GSE anymore than you do. I would love to be proved wrong though.
foooook hartson and his girlfriend lily.
Simon - It will never be forgotten.
It wasn't so much what he said (everyone's entitled to their opinion), it was the way he said it. Anyway thanks for the team talk John
right I think we need to get real here...
Bennett £4M the lad can't get a start at Derby were do you value him at £4M? He's never taken his chance to shine when he's started. He needs a 3 month loan at Chesterfield to play some games and get his feet back on the ground.
Bryson....I was asked how much I'd sell Bryson for...I did say £4m...the reply I got and I couldn't argue was £4M for a player who can't get in the scotland team? and the jocks are poor.....again like Bennett when he was given the chance of a start he blow it big style and was taken off at half time.
We'd probs get £3m max and with that we need to give him a better contract and get him tied down long term....He's worth more to us than any transfer fee any club is prepared to pay.
hendrick...I wouldn't let him go for anything less than £5M. unlike Bryson, he's strong enough to take his chance at international level and for a better, stronger side with more competition.
Ward....now thats a tricky 1...one his day he could be worth £M's but you know you'llnever get a full season out of him....at best 3/4's of a season...usually you get 1/2 a season....you could have the best player but what good is he when he's out all the time taking his wages.
Out of interest how much would you sell Buxton for? and the same for Martin....both came on frees...
On top of that how much would you pay for Wisdom and Dawkins....would you take £8M + Wisdom for Hughes?
Dawkins will be a nominal fee'
£8m + Wisdom for Hughes? Short answer, yes! Long answer, hell yes!
Won't happen though.
Eddie,
TBF I'd sign Dawkins for any fee around £550k or less. I think he has alot to offer the team. He's getting better and better each game he plays. He's quick with the ball and not afraid to shoot.
Would Wisdom and Hughes be a straight swap?
Regarding Buxton I reckon again like Bryson he's worth more to Derby than any club would be prepared to offer in transfer fees.... Fair play to Buxton, he's taken alot of flak from Derby fans and to be fair to him he's heard what people have said about him. I know his dad has had to bite his tongue at a few games he's been to. But Bucko has shown what he lacks in talent he makes up in guts and honour to play for the club. You need players like Buxton in and around your team. It was a big call by McClaren to keep him in at wigan and not play Kean. Buxton knows the shirt is his to lose..
Backo
Good call about the Board going for it!
According to radio Derby, Sam Rush has said there is definitely money available for McLaren in January
I sense a real positive change in the board for the first time
