This is nothing like the team that has finished above us in the past few seasons. Always banging on about history you lot.

"Oh and yes Eriksen is as good as Coutinho and just as promising."

I don't think many from any club will agree with you.

I would have thought most fans would have agreed that it is too early in both players careers to be able to accurately judge who is better. Eriksen I'll admit I expected to have more of an initial impact, but he has been around for a long time for his age and has been an integral part of Ajax for a number of seasons. Coutinho did look very promising last year but prior to this was relatively disappointing at Inter.

I'm also aware that he has been injured but I would have thought with a player like Suarez up front he would have contributed more.

I think it'll be an interesting game and an interesting season. In some areas of the squad Liverpool have definitely caught up if not overtaken, but I think we're stronger in others.

Coutinho wasn't disappointing at Spurs. He didn't get much chances. He got chances when he went on loan and didn't disappoint and since moving to us has been outstanding. Coutinho is a better player. Eriksen has the ability but he hasn't shown it for a couple of years now, whilst Coutinho has been getting better, Eriksen has been getting worse. The signs are that Coutinho will achieve his potential, whilst Eriksen won't.

Also contributing to a Suarez goal is very difficult, it's not as if he stands on the shoulder of a player and you play a pass through. Suarez basically scores his own goals. This tells me that you haven't watched Liverpool and more importantly Coutinho.

at Inter*

Prior to Liverpool Coutinho only really shone at Espanyol. Liverpool got him for a bargain price because he never really established himself at Inter (fantastic bit of business by Rodgers though)

Eriksen created more goal scoring chances than any other player in Europe last year. To suggest he is getting worse seems premature to the point of being ridiculous.

Suarez does create his own goals, but have you thought that he might be doing this because of a lack of service? As a Spurs fan last year I got pretty used to seeing Bale do this, but I don't doubt he would have been even more effective if he'd had someone to create the chances for him.

No. In the Italian league experience is preferred. Young flair players don't get much of a look in. It's different in the Dutch league.

And no I don't think service is the reason Suarez creates much of his own goals. That's just the kind of player he is. It's difficult to create for him as he isn't a natural striker, he doesn't stand around the box, he's all over the place.

If anything it's Spurs struggling to create for Soldado who's a natural striker and thrives on service. It was something fans around the country said would happen to Spurs as their midfielders are mostly defensive minded and still Eriksen doesn't get a look in.
