Sunderland perhaps paid Liverpool too much respect in the first half and didn't really get their own game going...In the second half Sunderland shoild have probably gone on to win the game if they had shown a little more composure in the final third of the field...
We conceded the equalising goal due to a mistake from on of our youngsters(Flanagan),but we were nowhere near good enough in the second half, which makes the final score overall a fair result ,still dissapointed though.

What an arrogant, disrespectful, thing to say about an absolutely brilliant goal . . . . not what I'd expect from Liverpool fans
@comment by Gordon Armstrong
no it isn't disrespectful.
It was a brilliant finish. By a player completely unmarked 8 yards from the player who was supposed to be closing him down.
The goal was Flanagan's fault.
Seb Larssen . . . . the luckiest player in the world
The way he lost his marker, adjusted his feet to set himself up for a fantastic volley ( similarly to Rooney's volley last season against 'City, where he lost his marker, too ) was all down the the defender's ineptitude
Aye, righto
Gordon
They're deluded mate leave them
I mean't " down to the defender's ineptitude "
. . . . we all make them . . . . but some of us acknowledge them
Take nothing away from Larsson's finish, which was superb, but the players had so much time to mark up I can't understand how Flanagan let Larsson get so much room. Very poor defending, superb finish.
@comment by Didi Hamann? He did doe didn't he doe? Apparently I have no bed o.0 (U5172)
that's exactly what I said. they don't seem to get it.
Flanagan didn't even rush out to contest or block the shot. He just stood there like a lost sheep. I still have faith in him, but he's got a lot to learn and hopefully he learns from his mistake.

thanks for confirming it Gordon. That was one seriously lost sheep at rightback. I feel bad for him.
Good players make space, no matter who their markers are and this type of goal ( which is now't to do with the striker's ability, by the way ) where the defender merits an 'assist' 'cos he 'made' the goal ( that's what some people apparently think, anyway ) will probably happen again . . . . I hope nobody gives credit to the scorer, though
Gordon, Larsson did everything right and it was a brilliant finish.
But we're more concerned about the poor kid who looks like he's watching butterflies instead of defending. Because he's our player.
I hope your man scores 10 more just like it. Except when we play you again.
You could say the same for Suarez's goal and that it was poor defending to allow Suarez to get a free header at the near post. The problem with you Liverpool fans is that you are hypocrites
'Redconn's argument is very hypocritical, but we're all of that nature when talking about our own team or another's
. . . . that's why we discuss/argue about football, and what makes it what it is
So if a player scores a great goal, then a team can't defend poorly? They're not mutually exclusive you know.
Of course maybe you do know this and this is all one big WUM, in which case STOP IT!!!!!!!!!
I see there has been very little said about Suarez's goal actually being offside! I bet there would have been a three day media inquest had it being the other way round!
More importantly, nowt's been said about Suarez's blatantly obvious handball which led to the penalty incident
If that had been dealt with correctly, Sunderland would have had a free kick, and the aforementioned incident would never have happened
. . . . what would we have to discuss then
If all the decisions hadn't gone Liverpool's way, and we had then rightfully and deservedly won the game, the referee and linesman would have probably faced banishment to the lower leagues..
. . . . and rightly so
Did anybody notice that Sunderland had twice as many chances/shots as Liverpool, off target and on . . . . and our supporters are much better looking
. . . . can't possibly argue with that
I don't think the Liverpool fans have a viable argument to contradict these facts of ours Gordon...
