The thing is we are not far off from being a genuine title winning side. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but we really didn't need Willian, sold Torres or sign someone better than Eto and signed a ball playing midfielder than can recieve and pass quickly.
We don't seem to be making the right signings in the transfer window.
Furthermore, I always had City down for favourites to win the league, their spine and squad balance is incredible. I just didn't expect to see world class players at Chelsea struggle to attack teams like Stoke and Newcastle whilst getting damaged at the other end.
Its clear to see that we are missing a dictator in midfield that can drop deep pick up the ball from the defence and spray it quickly around the pitch.

I don't think it's about spraying it around the pitch, we just need a player who makes an incisive ten yard pass, quickly and into the right player and pocket of space, if we can do that and release our midfield 3 more quickly and efficiently then we will improve by so much, Lampard is the only one of our CM that does this, but he does not do it often enough to make a difference, I am sick and tired of watching Mikel in CM, its is beyond a joke the pace he plays the game at the tempo he sets for the team and Ramires is just a crap passer of the ball..............
I am quite dissapointed that Jose did not identify this area of the squad as the problem area before he started with us again and only hope that he now realises this is the main isue holding the team back, followed secondly by our strike force, or should I say, lack of strike force.
If it was up to me, I'd sell / release 2 out of Ramires Lampard and Mikel in the summer, keep one and buy in 2 new ones. The ones we have missing key attributes that make up a good centre midfielder. Lampard cant get around quick enough. Mikel is too ponderous and Ramires can only play when the game is being played at 90mph.
We have talented players in abundance but lack balance, given this we will always have a good chance at winning games but remain vulnerable and inconsistent. I’ve no doubt key area we lack will be addressed and when they are the team will take on a completely elevated calibre. To not ‘complete’ this team would be a massively waste of some of the players we’ve assembled.
Deep midfield and striker are priorities, a centre half and left back are other areas we can improve.
With Mikel, at least you know ....he's not speed ! I found myself dozing off at times.

We never buy the right players and it's a miracle we have won as much as we have with some of the dross that has consistently been in our team(kalou,mikel,torres,shevchenko) It shows how good our good players actually were.

Yes he is, but if we are really aiming to be on same level as Bayern, then neither Mikel or Ramires should be at our club and have market value, Lamps has none so we either extend for one more year or let him go, personally I don't really care that much either way now, but I still think he is the best of a bad CM bunch.
