Sunderland x1

---------------------Weidenfeller---------------
--Arbeloa-------Dante--------Terry---------Davies
---------------------Xavi---------Pirlo-------------
---Townsend---------Robben-------------Salah
-------------------------Ibrahimovic-------------------

Subs: Mannone, Brown, O'Shea, Larsson, Mavrias, Giaccherini, Giroud

Tactics: Quick counter-attacking philosophy. We have an experience defence that will hold firm and the two deep playmaking midfielders will feed the runners who will tear apart most defences with their speed and skill and Ibra to finish them off.

Defence: Stay on your feet when tackling and be aggressive. Fullbacks to go forward when needed. JT commanding the line and make sure set-pieces are man marked. Dante will be sweeping up and let Terry confront the forwards first. Weidenfeller will be aggressive in his approach and not come out too rashly. Discipline is the key.

Midfield: Xavi and Pirlo to control the midfield and dictate the pace. Townsend, Robben and Salah to run into space and expect Xavi and Pirlo to find them and start the counter attack. All three runs should try and take on their players and play little triangles to create space. Both Xavi and Pirlo will take turns to go forward but they can slow and speed the game up when they feel like it. Robben to play a free role and I want him to penetrate that defence and run at them with pace and fire as much as possible.

Forward:
Ibra to stay with the last man and not come deep as we want to stretch their sefence and exploit the gaps with our pace. Ibra to hold the ball if there are too many defenders on him as our midfielders have the capacity to run in on goal and shoot at sight.

Starting XI for West Ham

-------------------------------Buffon
---Carvajal-----Alderweireld -----Vermaelen-----Moreno
-----------------------Alonso---------Verratti
---Gervinho ----------------Quintero ----------------Insigne
--------------------------------Costa

Tactics: Being at home the onus will be on us to attack and create chances. We will play possession football and wait for the right opportunities to attack. We have a very good combination in midfield. Alonso will play the role of a deep lying play maker and distribute the ball to the attackers. I expect Verratti o be more of a ball winning midfielder but he is also comfortable on the ball.

Defence: The defence is very solid. Vermaelen and Alderweireld are both Belgian therefore they should communicate very well and stay solid. Carvajal will look to support Gervinho and I expect Moreno to bomb forward to support Insigne, who will play more of an inside forward role. Instead of pumping the ball forwar, the CB's will take advantage of Alonso's passing range

Midfield: Very strong middle with Alonso dictating play. Verratti can be a bit rush at times but he is under instruction to stay on his feet and tackle sensibly. Gervinho will stay wide on the right to provide the much needed width. His dribbling will surely cause all sorts of problems. Insigne has to play an intelligent game. As an inside forward he will try to get in the box as much as possible, but not to worry as Moreno will be bombing forward to provide width on the left side.

Attack: Quintero has been given a free role. His job is primarily to create as many chances for Costa and the wide players. He will drop deep to look for the ball and use his creativity and dribbling skills to harm the opposition. Diego Costa will lead the line. Not only his goal scoring ability is important, his creativity will also be needed to unlock the Stoke defence.

Subs
IF LOSING - OFF Quintero ON Drogba after 60 mins. All attack with Drogba and Costa up front.

Free kicks and corners: Alonso
Penalties: Costa

-----Stocker--------------------Ruiz--------------------Shaqiri------
-------------------------------Mitroglou-------------------------------
Subs: Stockdale, Reither, Briggs, Hangeland, Kasami, Dejagah, Berbatov.

We will look to stifle the game and take the gamer to our opponents. We won't let them have any tie on the ball and we will sit in and close the space and look to hit on the break and score from set pieces. The defenders will stick to their positions and get strong challenges in, keeping it tight. The midfield will work up and down and will both protect the defence on this game and will look to play long balls out wide or over the top on the break. The more attacking trio will move around all the time and they will swap positions to confuse the marking and they will look for plenty of space and crosses and they must use their pace on the break. Our front line will look to break the offside trap, hold the ball up and look to bring others into play whilst using his pace and strength to get in behind and score.

We will be playing a fluid and counter + contain game style. With fluidity, the defenders will be a lot more defensive and will sit deep and the deeper midfielders will contribute to the transition phases as well as the more defensive phase and stifle the midfield area to stop their AMC dictating the game. The attacking trio will contribute to the attacking and transition phases allowing us to really stifle the midfield and block runners from deep and will hit them with great pace on the break. Our forward will only contribute to the attacking phase but he will sit deep when off the ball and he will close down making them knock the ball around at the back.

Newcastle

------------------------ Krul ----------------------
- Debuchy ----- Vidic ---- Chiellini --- Santon -
---------------------- Tiote ----------------------
--------- Cabaye ----------- Sissoko -----------
---------- Suarez -------- Di Natalie ----------
--------------------- Remy ----------------------
Subs: Elliot, Collocini, R. Taylor, Gutierrez, Birgirimana, Obertan, Ameobi.

We will look to play attacking with fast football and they will look to topple the solid defence of Fulham. Suarez and Di Natalie will play just off the shoulder of Remy and move the 2 defensive midfielders about and will sometimes look for flick on's to make runs from deep to get in behind. Tiote will sit in and clear whatever attacking midfield threat Fulham offer and Cabaye and Sissoko will look to over run the show. When 1 goes forward, the other drops back creating almost a 4-2-3-1 formation. If Debuchy and Santon both push on, then 1 will sit back. Debuchy and Santon will push when they can and create the width for Suarez + Di Natalie + the CM coming up to make an attacking 5 to really run the midfield about and if an extra body is needed for 6 then one of the deeper midfielders who are sitting will come up to support them. Remy will always stay in the last line of the defence and the potential 6 others in that attacking midfield area will all sit just in behind him, creating a flurry of players to seriously overrun their midfield and then they can have 3 push onto the centre backs whilst 3 still hand over the 2 deeper midfielders. Maybe even 1 more can go forward forcing them to really sit deeper and not allow them any goalscoring threat.

Sunderland tactics for week 2

---------------------Weidenfeller--------------------
Arbeloa-------Dante-------Terry--------Davies
---------------------Pirlo-----Xavi-------------------
Robben--------Thiago Alacantra---------Salah
-----------------------Ibrahimovic--------------------

Subs: Mannone, David Luiz, Brown, Lucas Moura, Townsend, Larrson, Giroud

Tactics: We will be looking for the win today but have to be at our best defensively especially against our opponents who possess Costa and it is important that we dont leave gaps to exploit. Pass and move and give it to the wingers as quick as they can. We wil be very direct but playing it simple.

Defenders: All have to be on their toes and be strong in challenges. Stay of their feet and usher them away from goal. Aggresively strong in the air and set pieces. The full backs will seldomly head forward to support the wingers but this will not happen alot.

Midfieders: Xavi and Pirlo will be sittind deep and dictating the game and it is vital that they look for the attackers as soon as possible so we can exploit their defenders 1v1 against our pace in Robben and Salah. Defensively, the wingers will help out their respective full backs but only one at a time so the other is ready for a quick counter if need be. Thiago will be higher up to Ibra and will try and feed him as much as possible. We want the atackers to run at the defenders and beat them for pace or skill and if they get a yellow, we penetrate them more for a mistake as they will be tentative in their tackles.

Forwards: Ibra plays the lone striker but can and will hold the ball up for the wingers and Thiago. Ibra has the license to shoot at sight. He will always be looking to run beyond the last man as he knows both Pirlo and Xavi have the skill to find him wherever.

Subs:

Thiago off and David Luiz on and plays DM at 70mins

Salah off and Moura on at 65 mins and switch wings with Robben.

Stoke City Tactics (Temp)

- Begovic -
- Huth - Shawcross (C) - Muniesa - Alba -
- N'Zonzi -
- Arnautovic - Ramsey - Ireland - Assaidi -
- Mandzukic -

Subs: Butland, Pieters, Wilkinson, Palacios, Edu, Pennant, Etherington.

Look to play long ball up to the striker Mandzukic if possible and use his height and power for on running midfielders to have shots or create chances.

Defence will stay solid throughout and use their physicality to bully the attackers and play long towards the wide men or Mandzukic.

The midfield will look to supply crosses for Mandzukic, shoot from distance if possible and create openings. N'Zonzi sits in whilst the other 4 charge forward in support and get back to support N'Zonzi.

Mandzukic will look to bully the defenders all day and look to get in between the defenders from crosses and set pieces and knock down for running midfielders as well as being clinical with his heading and finishing.

Subs:

Palacios > N'Zonzi 65'
Etherington > Assaidi 70'
Wilkinson > Huth 75'

Newcastle Tactics (Temp)

- Krul -
- Debuchy - Vidic - Chiellini - Santon -
- Tiote - Sissoko -
- Suarez - Cabaye - Di Natalie -
- Remy -

Subs: Elliot, Collocini, Taylor, S. Taylor, Gauld, Linegard, Shola Ameobi.

Play passing football in the midfield and look to get the front men involved as much as possible in the game to keep them on the back foot throughout.

Defence will stay tight but split when in possession to shift the ball about more and more. Knock it long when under pressure but torture the forward and not give him space.

Midfielders that are deeper will sit in to protect the back 2 and supply the forwards with quality passes. The more advanced midfielders will move constantly and use their qualities to break down the opposition defence.

Remy will look to be on the move all the time, switching with the 3 in behind him all the time to mix up the marking. Clinical in front of goal and play as a Complete Forward.

Subs:

Ameobi > Remy 80'
R. Taylor > Debuchy - Snaton to RB 75'
Gauld > Sissoko - Cabaye CM, Di Natalie AM 66'
