Yes he's a hero at atletico due to his role in their double win in 96, but he's constantly complaining that la liga is "boring" as he feels that it's impossible for anyone outside the big 2 to win it. Could do well in the champs league with them no doubt, but with the disparity in finances in Spain he'll want an attainable challenge sooner or later.

It appears i am one of the minority of fans that agree with you. However I was fed up with the manner of which the team was set up to play every week. Although the fear and negavity within the squad couldnt all of been Vilas boas fault. I still believed he should have been given more team. Constructing a team with the many individual talents we signed never reaps rewards straight away. Anyone with an ounce of football knowledge knows this.
People need to remember when vdv, king, modric and then redknapp left most people on here were stating that they would be content with Vilas boas guiding us to 6/7th, yet we finished 5th. Then we lose bale and sign many foreign individuals; then all a of sudden we are supposed to become title contenders. Some fans really are fickle.

Isn't really anyone to get in right now, I was all up for AVB and his insomnia tactics leading us to wins against stoke, Fulham, Norwich, Sunderland, palace, hull etc and a few hammerings against the big boys before leading us to somewhere between 6th and 8th and him getting the boot in the summer.....

Also states that AVB was picking fights with levy/baldini/Sherwood - any truth in that? Also talks about how we were hoping to blood some youngsters on crappy Thursday nights but he was dead against it (evidence suggests it's true) - could you confirm/ deny any of this?
Think it's absolute madness he was sacked looking from the outside. Doesn't he have the highest win ratio since the premier league began? 2nd in the away table? Maybe he had a point about expectant home fans?

You got very good results at Cardiff, Everton, sunderland, villa and Fulham all tough places to go. Your problem is your home form yet all this "crisis' and your still not far behind.
Levy sold Bale your best player. Liverpool kept Suarez despite his transfer requests and sulking. Liverpool showing ambition, showing Suarez they are bigger than him no matter what cost.
I wanted spurs to do well this season but I hope they slum down to mid table now though the blame will be pushed to AVB I bet

Always a risk to buy so many new players - see QPR under warnock/Hughes 2 seasons ago and Sunderland this season. I said in the summer it's a risk and we'd have to rely on individual brilliance until the team gels.......
...... But when we're playing tactics and a style of play which clearly does absolutely nothing for our attacking players (hence why none of them have performed well consistently and he keeps chopping and changing), it's difficult for anyone to produce any moment to turn a game. Ridiculously slow tempo, tactically naive, stubborn, trying to convince himself that our loads of shots (57% from outside the box) proves we're an attacking threat.
