Stick to Torres. Every top striker Chelsea buy turns into a flop. He'll be wary. Either way he'll be at atletico till end of season at least.

£32 million for a player who has had half a season of good form.

Football has gone nuts.

Also the fact the OP says "only" to that sum staggers me.

Why would he want to move from Atletí though? He plays under Simeone who has a great deal of confidence in him. Add to that they are joint top of La Liga and playing some phenomenal football and have a good chance of getting into the quarters of the CL and beyond?

I did also use the word relative but you conveniently forgot to mention that.

Superb,....sorry mate, but we must keep our feet on the ground.I like Costa a lot but,it's a lot of money to my mind ,and I'm not sure at this moment in time, Atletico would want to sell.

Well not saying that money is the be all and end all but apparently his wages are quite low at Athletico. He could probably quadruple those wages at Chelsea.

Harlequin but we just paid 30 million for Willian who we didn't really even need.

We are desperate for a world class striker and Costa's value will only rise.

A year from now people won't believe he could have been got for as little as 30 million.

^ again relatively speaking ^

Wouldn't rule it out completely, but it would be quite a shock if he decided to move mid-season to a club where he'd been cup-tied for the CL, especially with Atleti joint top in La Liga and him being joint top scorer with Ronaldo. They seem to be in with a fair shout in every competition they're involved in and he's an absolutely nailed-on starter. He's well in line for making the Spain squad for the World Cup too.

Money might convince him to move away, but powerful as it may be, it's the only reason I can see right now.

Ok well let's buy him now so that he moves to us in the summer then

January won't happen, but I'll be delighted if we can get him in the summer.

He was extremely close to signing for Liverpool in the summer and the rumour is that we have first offer.

He wants to link up with Suarez and Suarez wants to pen a new deal

If you don't get CL, he's not going to be choosing Liverpool over other better teams out there.

Plus what does 'first offer' ACTUALLY mean?

Plus if you do sign him then I imagine he'd be more of a Suarez replacement after he's sold to Real or somewhere.

I agree on both points

Why would Liverpool have first offer ?

If anyone holds the cards then surely it's us as Athletco have our goalkeeper (Courtois) on loan. Also they want KDB so maybe he can be used as part of the deal to bring Costa to Chelsea.

Liverpool will have the first offer and he will wait for the second if a club like Chelsea come in for them.

Is Costa a big fan of the 70's then ?

But on a serious note you cannot have both Suarez and Costa. I won't allow it
