Bale was being played in the advanced position. And with the acon it was natural for him to be 2nd choice

What his performances have proved is that we need that kind of player in the team...but we need one who will turn up week in week out.

No way. I think we dodged a bullet with him this Summer. He is being shown up as the second rate striker he is. It goes to show how difficult it is finding the right players.

Anyway there's no need to worry. Ade is back!

But Thudd, there's a difference between playing poorly and just not turning up. That's what annoys most of us..if he had tried and failed it would be easier to stomach

Yes, Soldado is way short of confidence right now and you can blame AVB for that. However he did set up Ade's first today.

Soldado looks like he has pretty much hit rock bottom. He had 2/3 very good chances today. He can't really ask for much more - he is getting good service and still cant score.

If he had Lambert's chance today he would probably have scuffed it wide.

I'm not sure. His partnership with Ade looked promising but he has got to start scoring soon. He looks completely drained of confidence.

All he needs is a goal, and with the type of service he got today he will start flying. In some ways i was happier to see him wasting chances today than standing around looking frustrated at not even being brought into the game.

I don't think Spurs have got any option but to stick with Soldado - that is the problem. We wont get anywhere near the money back we paid for him and we cant leave him to rot on the bench.
