OP
You don't half write a load of drivel. How can you honestly say Sunderland should have won the match? We had a missed penalty, and in many cases their player would have been sent off. We also had a goal incorrectly disallowed for Andy Carroll plus a screamer which hit the crossbar.
You then talk about us losing Torres. What's have we lost exactly since he left? He's only scored one goal with a price tag of 50m part of which we used to buy Luis Suarez who was voted the player of the Copa America, and scored for us yesterday.
It's poorly written wummery like this that drags this site down, still Everton live in LFCs shadow in more ways than one eh?
Everton..., even the name alone makes you want to smile. A largely irrelevant lingering presence only a short walk from Anfield.
Yes, that is the same Bill Shankly who spent most of his retirement at Bellefield and became close friends withe the Blues Groundsman.
Liverpool F.C. asked him to pay for his Match day tickets and he never visited the ground again.
After his deat, Bill,s Wife presented the Groundsman with his Brown Mackintosh and Brown Brouges, which always bore an immaculate shine. She did this to acknowledge their close friendship and the fact that the Groundsman always admired the particular items. It became a standing joke between the two men.
Much later, Liverpool F.C. heard of the bequest and asked if the club could have them permanently as mementoes of Shankly. The groundsman offered the on loan but they refused saying the Club wanted them as a gift. To his credit, The Groundsman refused and retained the treasured items. I am sorry that i do not know his name but i am sure there is someone out there who can confirm it.l
silky,
I was told Shankly was at an Everton away game,i think it was the replay league cup final against villa,it was on the same night Liverpool played, what many of their fans will tell you, one of the best games they were involved in against St Etienne.
Any one know if that is true?
I hate Sunday mornings.
You always have to throw away the empty beer cans and the wrappers from the cr*p you consumed the night before.
Everton will do well to finish in the top 8 let alone get anywhere near the top 5.
I recall hearing this type of nonsense last season, with some of the more deluded amongst the evertonians talking about a top 3 or even an outside tilt at the premiership title.
When I expressed an opinion that everton would finish between 7th and 10th, they went crazy, with all the usual bile pouring from their embittered minds.
Liverpool have a lot of new players to intergrate into the team, and this may take a little time, but when they find their feet, they will be more than a match for any team in this league, and will stand a great chance of a top four finish at least.
We have massive strength in depth compared to last season, and will see the benefit of this throughout a long premiership season.
As for comments about Andy Carroll, well it would seem that some people are very selective in their recall of events, as the truth of the matter is, he scored a good goal, that should never have been disallowed.
And to end, lets get it straight, everton will do well to maintain the 7th place they managed last season, with other teams around them improving their squads, while everton once again stand still.
He often went to Goodison where he sat in the Directors Box and yes , he did travel to some Away games as a V.I.P. guest of E.F.C. all though i cannot say for sure that he was there on that occasion, but, having regard to Liverpools attitude towards the man and the fact that he was totally enamoured of the manner in which he had been welcomed into the Everton fold, it does not surprise me. Neither does the fact that most "New" Liverpudlians are not aware of the circumstances.
I await the first comment from a True Red, preferably of the "Old School".
If you think EFC will overtake LFC, you're having a laugh!
Manyoo. Who pulled your chain?
No one, mate. I just think EFC fans are having a laugh or are delusional if they think they'll finish above LFC at the end of the season.
That would be an ecumenical matter

if moyes has the balls to play barkley against qpr and resist playing anichiebe or saha and play beckford we will have 3 points from 1 game liverpool at best will have 2 from 2 but i expect an arsenal victory, without jagielka, as he has made it perfectly clear he does not want to move.
larry,
where do you see Barkley starting?
The kid looks a great prospect.
0-4 for Qpr yesterday.
2 Forwards required for me.
CONCERNED EVERTONIAN id like to see him where he was against villalreal behind the striker linking up all the play everything should go through him imo, but if he plays moyes will have him out on the right where he looked largly ineffectual during the same game.
i agree we have to go for it at home this season too many times last season we played to negatively at home but in all honesty i see nothing changing this season same team same tactics same stubborn manager same problems.
