Wasn't the offside the fault of the linesman? Why did he blame the referee? Precious little the ref can do about that since he was behind the play?

I'm all for backing up refs and protecting them but come on if I made an error like that at work I would definitely face the sack..he's 3 yards onside

By sackable, you mean bundled into a sack and thrown into the canal?
Yes i could'nt agree more.

Cereal I personally didn't think Mason had such a bad game but the lino did. Arguably it was a freekick and penalty to Suarez but City can argue that they could have had a pen for Skrtel's shirt pull. The lino's decision altered the result of the match no doubt..

Pellegrini has just issued a statement thanking the ref for his performance.

The linesman had been smoking astro turf all morning, that was the only kind of grass he had on his mind.

the linesman was trying to catch up with stirling instead of being in line with the last defender and yes the pitch was marked out like NFL game, technolgy upgrade anyone?

FFS its like yesterday was the first time a referee/linesman has ever made a mistake, unbelievable.

Nobody has said it was ffs read the article. Watch the decision again and tell me he doesn't deserve to be punished for that..he had one to make all game and it was a complete eff up

Refs should be dropped for poor performances like football players are, it's a good way of getting players to step up their game in the long run after all. But sacking them? Don't be silly!

I think we have to ask what the FA are doing to help referees. Even my wife, who doesn't watch football, asked yesterday, but how can they not give the goal. we just saw in two seconds from the reply it wasn't offside. I explained they aren't allowed to use the replay and she thought it was so stupid she laughed her head off at the suggestion.

sure you can moan and make up stories about how the offside changed the game -when it didn't
what you cant do is question the referees integrity Rodgers has been spouting jibber jabber nonsense hes famous for ever since Liverpool went top
,an apology pronto is his next best move

Quite clear it did. 1-0 up with Sterling through on goal. Yes didn't change the game at all you joker. Now as I said BR is not here to appease you or your set of supporters so goodbye

The offside was before we went 1-0 up. I too believe it wouldn't have changed the game but we never know.

It was a terrible decision to call it offside, but one in a long line of bad decisions yesterday, some of the decisions made in the newcastle/stoke game were just as mind boggling.

I think Coutinho and Sterling should have buried their chances, if they had we wouldn't be worrying about the ref.

Liverpool weren't 1-0 when the "offside" happened.

Oh my mistake..still feel it changed the game though. Hector do you stay camped on our board or what?

As i've said anyway, I understand had we taken our chances better we would have got something from the game..but i am pleased that BR said what he said. That is all

The OP is extremely happy that Brendan Rodgers is a little bit more like Sir Alex Ferguson

Officials make mistakes. Sometimes they go for you, sometimes they go against you. It'd be pretty boring if it was all done on review.
