Thanks Marco, you've got me worried I might gain a reputation on here now!
In the interest of balance therefore, I would also like to add that I breathe a sigh of relief whenever that prat Steve Claridge isn't on.
But seriously, would be happy to see Leicester promoted just to rid us of the bias!
So long as Lineker doesn't show his true colours that is

FLS touted the Forest-Leeds game as 'extended highlights', then showed pretty much just the goals, and avoided studio discussion altogether. Abysmal.
I've been reflecting on this question recently. Why was Nigel so negative and why is Steve so positive?
Then it occurred to me - Nigel did not have the resources to be positive, whilst Steve does have far better players to call on. Cisse, Dawkins, Wisdom. And some good players on the bench in Mason, Sammon etc,
So it comes down to why Nigel had no resources. Did Rush or GSE prevent investment? or did Nigel not have the vision to say what he needed?
Personally I blame Rush for this. He had a plan to get rid of Nigel and he put it in to place. Credit to him for seeing Derby needed some changes, but he is a snake in the grass for the dishonourable and deceitful way he made the changes.
Remind me again who is this Nigel you speak off?

Igor. Re-read the question. Good morning.
But Igor I agree with you about the better back-room staff even though half his problems were due to a lack of investment.
It is impossible to say whether we would have had the same, better of worse results with the former manager. Personally I believe we are 8 to 10 points better off than we would have been under Clough but is pure conjecture.
You're definitely getting five stars

Hard to say what Steve is doing right, sometimes managers see things in players other managers don't and get them playing in a different way. He has also made some good loan signings. Strange how he was so poor with us and made some very poor signings (or did't know how to utilise them).
Now I hope this doesn't turn in to a Billy arguement but he took teams that had just avoided relegation in Forest and Derby and in his first full season took both to the playoffs. Then he took over the mess left by McLeish and with no additions almost got to the playoffs again.
Maybe it is just something as simple as seeing things your predecessor didn't and making a few changes
Jacko, Yes SM has brought in two good loan players in, in Andre Wisdom and Simon Dawkins and I don't mind admitting I was wrong about Dawkins, I couldn't believe it but he's proved me wrong.
However for me the main difference for me is that we have become more attack minded trying to win games rather than setting our stall out not to lose games.
Also Simmo and Eric Steel have also played a part as back room staff and Grant has improved as a goalkeeper.
Proof will be in the pudding and hopefully we can make a couple of additions in January to strengthen as if we pick up injuries the depth of squad isn't great
Also thank them for http://weaintgotnohistory.sbnation.com/2013/12/30/5257876/patrick-bamford-chelsea-fc-derby-county-loan-transfer-rumors
Poor lad! It's probably the last place he expected to end up when he got what he thought was the move of a lifetime- doubt he has much say in the matter. Sadly though this could solely serve to show us just how much of a trick we've missed by not getting him back with us as a condition of his original transfer...
At least he'd have an easy way out though at the end of the loan unlike his pal Kieron Freeman

Since I am as yet unknown to the Derby lot, I suppose I ought to be the one to take the plunge? The only problem is I wouldn't really know how to interact with them; I've been living outside the E.Mids for over half my life and they're hardly well spread for followers of a 'Global Brand'....
It's great to finally join the Forest community on here though and to join the ranks of all you cyber legends
Top result today; if we could go onto win at least two of the next three, we might break into the top six but will probably also cut ourselves off from and isolate a lot of mid-table pretenders...
Nevertheless, there's still much for most to play for and plenty of points for us to (hopefully) win!!

Don't bother Infra-Red. Stay on the Forest board.
Most derby fans will read your comments at some point anyway.

Nice blast from the past- you'll notice from my earlier posts that I have never really had any experience in dealing directly with anyone from the Derby flock so I mean you no harm really... I'm sure we can get along ok without wanting each other to go away
Howdo UFO.
Must say it's quite pleasant to encounter a Forest poster on the Derby board who sounds like he can actually string together a couple of lucid sentences, without resorting to the obligatory insults.
Almost looking forward to your future visitations
