For immigration, if people from other European nations want to come into the UK and work fair enough. Jobs are there. If they want to claim benefits it should be based on their previous contributions of NI etc.. If they have no contribution, their claims are to be settled in the first instance (not via a counter claim by UK)

This should assist with any anti-sentiment for "foreigners"

**their claims are to be settled in the first instance by their own countries

Take HK for example. The toilet cleaner on minimum wage is an example of how the foreigners are vital.

Personally I think the BBC played it wrong a few years back when they decided to turn Question time into a whole anti Nick Griffin hate tirad. With that being said the BNP and Nick Griffin are most definetly what this country does not need right now and are arguably quite dispicable. UKIP are a very different kettlefish in all fairness though. Despite all the main political parties attempting to try and portray them in the same light as the BNP thus far such attempts have failed because they are quite simply very different. I have my doubts about Farage and UKIP but at least they are attempting address issues such as the EU and Immigration in a sensible manner something which has been lacking up until this point.

We do have this habbit at times of attempting to label things. People are too quick to simply point and call another person for example a racist without stopping to think and consider the other person's viewpoint and situation. Immigration has its pros and cons, the trick is to maximize the pros and minimize the cons and this can only be done through controlling it. (Controlling it I conceed is a task easier said then done.) Unfortunatly what successive goveremental premierships have done over the years is to do the opposite of controlling and that had caused major problems. The idea of Britain going into shutdown and locking their doors to all migration is frankly absurd but so is the policy of simply throwing open doors to all prospective migrants .Unfortunatly policies closer to the latter have been carried out and this has caused serious economic and politcal challenges for this country.

In terms of PC I do agree with Metro. David Starkey made a valid point on question time when he argued that in the 1950's the social attitudes were extremely oppressive towards homosexuals etc. However now a new kind of attitude is starting to take place which is every bit as oppressive as it curtials our freedom of speech. Goverments, general people, media etc label certain arguements, opinions etc as racist or homophobic but choose not to enter into a debate but rather try and silence them in various manners. Voltaire once said "I may not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it". Such a right and lesson has and continues to become less and less heeded. Its like we have gone from one side of the coin to another and its an issue that should be addressed in all honest probably wont.

Wasent the same said when Indians started to come here in the 60's /70's. The National front spouted the same rubbish back then

Forward 40 odd years, and they have become an asset to the economy, thriving businesses, excellent educational results, many working in high level professional jobs etc...

Everyone deserves a chance.

Its not as if people born and bred here don't abuse the system too, or is because they are born here that are allowed to take the pi ss

In my view useful Political debate in this country is restricted by the powerful (most national media outlets included) to protect the status quo of power relations. In simpler form to keep the rich rich and the powerful powerful. To protect the eilte from real accountability and having to contribute meaningfully and proportionately to the rest of society.

Immigration is one successful method of deflecting the focus of the electorate from the above issues. Our politicians are in general weak, and still in thrall to an economic model that we have all seen fail many times, in the case of the last crash on subsequent depression – catastrophically.

So, in summary the idea that immigration in itself is causing hardship for the indigenous population is false. This problem, and I accept it is a problem for many people, is a symptom of failure to address deeper problems that have become embedded in our society in the last 3 and a half decades. For example where are the real, secure, aspirational jobs for our nations young people?

As for political correctness I think that many people do not understand its value. To be politically correct means you actually think about what you say and why you say it. Rather than just spouting unexamined assumptions that may cause offence just because to you “it feels right”. Therefore to not be politically correct is to be lazy.

Great points redboychris. I particularly enjoyed the quote above.

Freedom of speech is there but people daren't speak out of social rejection to the mas view. Very sad

I ask you all to watch the video I attached in the OP - its great viewing.

The problem with the BNP is that their views are toned down so that they are within acceptance.

If they had no repercussions they would be more akin to the Na zis - there is a blatent hatred when discussing a person of ethnicity, I find it ****** disgusting!

UKIP are a elitest bunch, but Farage just personifies all that they are. If they were in charge they would be more focused of self fulfilment and not care much about the lesser man. I don't think they HATE a race. they just have severe stereotypes engrained in their heads.

Ha ha cheers HK-Ozil. Tbf the argument the migrants generally take some of the worse jobs is a valid point. As is Panda' argument about the difficulty of jobs for young people. However why do we need such a high level of immigration for certain jobs when we have millions trapped either willingly or unwillingly on welfare? That just means that this country has to support migrants and millions of people out of work. Farage did have have a point when he said that maybe if companies such as Domioes paid little bit higher and were a tad more generous more British people would be willing to work for them. Afterall in all fairness it is difficult for a prospective person on benefits to take a job which technically pays them less than they recieved in terms of welfare allowance from the goverment. That is a problem which has not been addressed. Howover one can only respect the work ethic and will power of people such as the Polish immigrants who take not the nicest or well paid jobs in an attempt to better their lives. Its admirable.
