Yep take him on loan why not

Good, prem experienced defender, wouldn't need bedding in much or learning a new language.

Seems a very sensible target for me

If his contract is up in 6 months, why not sign him up on a permanent deal for a nominal fee?

I would be very keen on this, especially since it looks like Kaboul is never going to regain full fitness

Would be happy with this

hmmnn nothing against him....but we need a cb with pace....

Excellent news if we could get him, especially with the doubts about Kaboul's fitness problems.

Lets hope it happens.

He's a good PL defender with experience and can also chip in with goals. Do we know how long Vertonghen and Kaboul are out for though? Cause if they came back he would be kinda redundant.

Kaboul is schedule for the 11th Jan (as is Andros) and Verty the 19th Jan.

So we bring in Lescott over Jan when we hopefully have a fully fit defence.

I'd like to see us get Berbatov back as an option up front and leave it there. We don't need anyone else (apart from maybe left back cover). The last thing we need now, after so many new signings, is another truckload to bed in.

On a side note, I'd like to know just what it is both AVB and Tim see in Chadli. How can Lamela be behind this guy? He's done nothing. Neither has Capoue to be honest, though I'll give him the benefit of the doubt given we have so many central midfielders out. We have to play him.

I wouldn't mind Lescott if Kaboul's out long term

He can do a job at LB too

Good point about left back, didn't think about that. If he can cover both positions it might be worth it. If we stick Verts out there anymore he's gonna get the right ar$ehole.

fridgeboy, may not be popular with everyone, but I agree 100% regarding Berba.

Seeing as kaboul is now a crock I wouldn't be against this as long as he is firmly 4th choice
