A snip at that price, nice to be getting the business done early.
RAMS............your going to get battered this week !
3 days into the window:
Dawkins signed up
Keane signed up
Whitbread signed up
Bamford (as good as) signed up
Derby County aren't messing about any more.
Well done Sam Rush, Chris Evans & GSE.
Harlequin.... thank you for your useful contribution.
'Your' what is going to get battered? Haddock?
Or did you per chance mean 'you're' as in 'you are'?
Either way... errm... thanks.
Great bit of business to get Dawkins and at a good price.
I see the plastic fans have arrived. Harlequin when was the last time you saw a real football crowd.
Careful ZZH, he's an "ultra" according to his members page. You know how scary those types are!
Re Dawkins, I wasn't at all convinced when he arrived but have been pleasantly impressed with that he's done since and am delighted that we've got him tied up at a sensible price.
Peeder, What's Dawkins best position, I believe he is a good attacking midfielder, which just happens to be Hughes position.
Is he Hughes replacement?
IS IT THE JANUARY SALES OR WHAT?
BARGAIN AT 500K
I SAY AGAIN..........BARGAIN.
My son was saying when the Chelsea fans turn round and do the Poznan, all those fat blokes with shaved heads, the rolls of fat on the back of their necks makes it look like empty terracing.
Great news about Dawkins, half a million is a steal at today's prices.
Zig - good question!
I'm not sure what Dawkin's best position is yet - only seen him 3/4 times - but he does like to run at the defenders so I'd agree that CAM (or LAM or RAM) seems appropriate (using FIFA speak!).
I'm equally unsure about Hughes best position. In fact, more unsure!
I think Hughes is best employed in a slightly deeper (proper CM) role so he can control the game, like Huddlestone. Otherwise, in my opinion, you are wasting his main talent - the impeccable ability to pass the ball aorund with pinpoint precision.
Whatever, though, whilst we might "sell" Hughes soon, I am as certain as I can be that he won't be physically leaving just yet but will remain on loand so, for the time being at least, am happy that we will have both of them playing in the same team.
About what I thought to tell you the truth
Looks like a very good buy in my opinion, especially at that price.
Nice to see us getting our business sorted early, I've never understood why teams wait until deadline day to bring in players, you've missed several weeks of the season by then when you could have been utilizing your new players to pick up points.
Really important player for us.
Against Wigan, with Russell and Ward out wide, there was a huge void in the centre circle with only Hughes in it.
Will we very interesting to see where Bamford fits into the formation...
iwas: you're not wrong. Very happy to get him, and even happier at that price.
Great signing for 500k, absolute bargain!
What do you think the chances are of us splashing the cash on Wisdom? (If Liverpool let him go that is)
Cant see 'pool letting him go, but if they did, I think we'd snap their hand off.
Connor Sammon - (apologies if this has already been highlighted)

Yeah its a done deal, just confirmed on the official DCFC site
http://www.dcfc.co.uk/news/article/dawkins-seals-derby-switch-1272846.aspx we've signed Dawkins now. Bamford is joining us till the end of the season. Keane sorted out till the end of the month. There's nowt like getting your business sorted early.
Now who have the RedDogs brought in? Or will Billy boy be chucking his toys out of the pram again?
Excellent signing. I've been impressed with Dawkins and it's good to see us strengthening the squad for the long term by converting some of these loans to permanent signings (well as permanent as a two and a half year contract ever is).
Wassa....the red dogs don't need to sign anyone....Tudgay, Miller and Moussi have all returned from their loans....suddenly their squad seems stronger....
Pleased with Derby signing Dawkins and Bamford can't understand why we've extended Whitbread's loan as we need better than him....been here 3 months and only played just over 2 games....
I don't kow how any can suggest Dawkins is Hughes' replacement when they have been playing in the same team.
Hoping Bamford can be an improvement on Ward and Russell.

I bet Billy is pleased
wassa and he's done it without spending a penny...he is a master of the Jan transfer window...his next shrewd move is getting Darius to net 20 goals between now and the end of the season
First goal should be, don't punch anyone.
Dawkins has cost £500k....less than what we paid for Maguire, less than half of sammon. great business in my eyes
