I wasn't going to comment on this post, I read Albi's message and agreed with his sentiments.
Just because I and many others didn't write anything doesn't mean that we don't feel saddened.
It DOES NOT mean that we have our heads up our behinds as you say.
Did you bother to write an acknowledgement for Bill Foulkes who recently died, no of course but it doesn't mean that you didn't care.

No bally, the ref didn't play advantage at all, he indicated by signal that it was no penalty.
It is a different signal to the one they use for advantage.

My point wasnt just over that individual case, more that why dont refs give very obvious pens.
Sometimes they seem to be the only people in the ground who dont see it.
Also, as has been suggested, why not consult the linesman or fourth official for an opinion?
They are all wired up and it would take a couple of seconds, if the ball was out of play they could take as long as they need, after all some of these decisions are match changing situations like the Wellens one at QPR.
I have always been against the use of video technology to help with major decisions but find myself now leaning towards the use of it because of the incompetence of many refs.
As for not grumbling about it afterwards because it wont change the score, well why look for a burglar after he has gone because you wont get your stuff back.

The point of my burglar comment is more or less linked to your response.
What i meant was that if you go after the burglar and catch him, even if you dont get your stuff back you will have highlighted to everyone else that he was in the wrong and he should be punished.
Now if we didnt grumble about bad refs and report them they would just carry on making the same bad decisions and getting away with it.
We have to let their bad days be known about.
See what i mean?
Now about that grey hair - i dont mind, at least i still have plenty of it.
