I do hope so as it was an abysmal decision if he did.
Your ground is rotting with no replacement plans.
Your owner is skint and is about as good at attracting investment as a tramp on Tennants, and you routinely sell your best players when the chance to better themselves arises.
Good call Bobby M
Dont think we will ever know the truth unless Marinez comes out and tells us. I think it was Dave Whelan that said Bobby knocked back the RS job. We all know to tame what whelan says with a large pinch of salt. Personaly I prefare are manager to there's as imo Bobby seems a bit classier
The OPs trying to WUM his own teams manager

I wouldn't believe a word that comes out of Whelan's mouth. He just likes beating his gums and listening to the sound it makes. Anyone that would consider Everton a better long-term prospect needs their head seeing to.
But Martinez > Rodgers, RAP

A genuine question.
Do you actually think anyone on here actually knows the answer to this question?
There's probably only about a dozen people that actually know the answer to that question so you either believe one of those could be on here or you're feeling a bit smug that you finally have a talented manager an wanted to try a bit of a wind up.

Given how Martinez and Everton's players are all brilliant, and Rodgers and Liverpools players are all massively overrated, you would think that Everton would be 10 PTS ahead by now, and they would have beaten us comprehensively in the latest meeting.
Strange really.

“We must educate people," said the Spaniard. "In five or six years, we [Wigan] reap the benefits. Maybe I won’t be there then.
"But this is not why I stayed, when Liverpool made me an offer."
Asked why he did stay, causing Liverpool to hire Swansea's Brendan Rodgers instead, Martinez - who went on a sign a new deal with the perennial relegation battlers - insisted it was because of the support of chairman Dave Whelan.
“I stayed because my chairman is unique," he continued.
"This summer, we sat down together. He had thought about the future of the club, I’d done the same.
“He knew that I had spoken with other clubs. But he is so persuasive... I extended my contract for three years.
“He wants to take the club to the next level. I know it will be difficult, but it excites me a lot."

Took them to the next level alright!
