MANAGEMENT DECISION

From what I recall, having watched him play several times,Schurrle plays from wide left.

A career strike rate of less than 1 in 4 suggests he has a fair way to go to being a top class goal scorer

Arouna;

Shurrle is not a striker, at a push you could call him a forward.

With regards to selling players when hey don't want to go it happens all the time. Lamela apparently did not want to leave Roma and with a choice between the move or being put in the reserves often therre is only one choice especially if they have a while on their contract..

Fact is in a World Cup year his agent may have said to Chelsea how many games will my man start? If it was just cup games and so on he may have said get him a loan then.

You also can't say that people in unity have said his price has gone from £20m - £30m then to £15m as I am the only one who said £15m.

What I do not understand is your stance that if a player is on loan at 20 then his value must drop. I do not see that as the case at all. In fact if anything sometimes loans are made to increase the value as players are put in the shop window. You could argue that this is the case with Suso and Deulofeu or at the very least that their sale value has increased as a result.

It seems logical to me a prospective employer, looking to sign a manager, would interview his first choice first.....his second choice second....etc.

Unless I am mistaken,Martinez was the first to be interviewed by JW .

Martinez "made it" to the interview held in Miami.
All expenses paid by J Dubya.

Brendan couldn't make it as he was unavailable?

Congratulations taggs.
You have taken the idiotic comments by your red colleagues into a different league.

Oh Pahleaaase!!
Rodgers turned down an initial invitation to be interviewed while Booby jumped on the first plane to Miami there was even breaking his employers heart by showing interest in the job.

Why did he change his mind Mamba?

posted on 9/1/14

I don't really understand the point or the need to know really.

Still early days for both managers but I get the feeling that there is an inference that LFC have lost out somehow. Unfortunately this is not the case though as Rodgers has lowered the age of the squad, improved the style of play and got us some 13 points better off (something like that).

Martinez has got you playing better football but there is no discernible improvement on position or points. As the self-proclaimed Voice of Reason could it be argued that Martinez's improvement is a bit of a white elephant at this stage?

This should explain it all and am sorry to be the one to finally show once and for all how desperate you bitters are flying in the face of facts just to have a pop at Liverpool.

Who is bitter?

posted on 9/1/14

Robbing,
It could be argued,as could any subject.

Not with any conviction though.

Ok you are not bitter. Don't let the rest of the post bother you though.

Rodgers was first choice.

PHAAACT!

5 points. Not as good as 11 points is it. That cannot be argued.

posted on 9/1/14

Mamba,

Thank you.

You have just proved my point.
Martinez was interviewed, turned down the job therefore the position was open.....

Rogers did not want to be considered unless he was told he was on the short list.
After the position became open, due to Roberto declining the job,hey presto,Rogers was told he was on the short list.

NOTE:

Rogers was NOT told he was on the shortlist until AFTER Martinez declined the job.

What 5 points ?

And what 11 points?

I said nothing about people moving his price up and down in unity. What I commented on is how his price has fluctuated from £20-30m to Chelsea possibly going no lower than £15m!

Not at any stage have I even put a price to him. I did question how £10m has been added to a players last transfer value where his only performances have been in the league. Add to that the fact he has ran down another two years of his Chelsea deal and doesn't sound very happy/on good terms with the current Chelsea boss.

posted on 9/1/14

I can explain how 10m was added. Even at 18 he was a risk at £20m as the Belgian league is not the strongest and people will have questioned whether he can score at prem level.

Turns out he can.

Voice
Its clear from the articles my friend. Look at the dates of the articles even. At the time Booby was interviewed BR had already turned down an invitation whereas Booby jumped at the chance even cutting short his holiday and leaving his chairman in limbo to speculate and guess.
Its quite logical in fact to portend that Martinez didn't impress JWH and thats why we turned to Rodgers even more determined but that's speculating but pretty logical.

Mr Reasonable
My bad apologies for that.

"Not at any stage have I even put a price to him"

What price would you put to him ?

posted on 9/1/14

Mamba,

It's not clear at all.
We will have to agree to disagree.
I believe Martinez was top of the list, you believe Rogers.
Cest la vie
