@Berahero is my favourite Albion supporter on Twitter.
Understand that he may not be everybody's cup of tea though.

As for the Pepe Mel appointment.

Attractive Football
Can work on a budget
Once qualified for European competition

Fine by me. Could have been a lot worse.

Cheers JH.

Yeah me too Kanga. Will get slightly worried if we do happen to get in the Europa (very doubtful this season now, out of both cups) but let's cross that bridge if we come to it.

@chrislepkowski: General sense of sadness from Spanish journalists that Mel is no longer on their patch. Clearly very highly thought of by 'local' media #wba

Don't know whether you've heard of him but Betis signed Benat on a free agent in the same year that Pepe Mel signed.

Was Betis stand out player last season, I seen him play against Malaga and he assisted all 3 goals against them. Good player, I like him.

Atletico actually bought him back for 8 million.

Betis scored after 30 seconds so that tells you something.
They played with pace down the wings.

I don't like to judge on one game, mind but I'm just sharing what little info I do know about his teams.

@robhatchtv: Mel is on Spanish radio right now talking about his appointment at West Brom. Wants his own coaches in from end of season onwards.

@robhatchtv: New West Brom coach also says that his time at Betis is now a 'closed chapter' but he remains a fan for life. #mel #EPL

@wilfordwm: Pepe Mel tells Spanish radio he has come alone because #wbafc said that would be best. But stressed he wants Roberto Rios and David Gomez..

@wilfordwm: Mel aiming to get Rios and Gomez in this summer to join him at #wbafc. Says he wants to enjoy Prem League.

Swings and roundabouts really.

You've got to show faith in the manager and let him bring his men in but then you have to have a sensible back up plan (i.e Downing and Kiley) or damage limit the costs if it all goes wrong.

Bit of compromise there, then. Spreads the costs over the season anyway.

Yeh.

You can just see the dramas over the summer though knowing JP

Definitely.
J.P may have some thinking to do over the summer. Could even cause another 'shock' sacking.
