Lampard won't leave. We should really at least let Mata go on loan if not sell him. I feel bad for him. He needs to be playing regularly if he wants to get into Spains WC squad.
In terms of signings, I thought Guarin was looking likely? I'd prefer Matic, but I'm sure he'd cost quite a bit more than Guarin, plus it would look pretty bad, us paying £20+ million for someone we practically gave away only three years ago.
I just don't see anyone coming in. Not that I mind is prefer we wait for romeu come back who IMO looks as good as Matic at Valencia.

The more I think it of the more depressing it is. Matic seems to be a lot better than luiz yet we paid 24 million plus matic. Scandalous business.

I don't regret getting Luiz, but I do regret losing Matic. Still, he probably wouldn't have turned out as well as he has if he stayed at Chelsea, that I'm pretty sure of.
Matic is meh. Really don't see the point of signing him when we have others on our books. Rather use what we have and assuming Eto'o and Ba won't be here next season and Lukaku is recalled we spend our funds on a forward or two so we have a front line of Man C quality
Luiz is much better than Matic will ever be for squad versatility. I'm astonished how many peeps slate him yet Bayern and Barca are constantly linked with him.

So what do we do with Ramires,Romeu, KDB, Mikel,Lamps,Chalobah to name a few, add Luiz into that mix as imo he had a stormer v Liverpool in midfield so can be used their if needed. Guys we really don't need a midfielder as much as a striker

Ramires isn't comfortable with the ball at his feet
Lampard cannot be a starter at 34
That leaves Romeu who I rate but only seen him play a few times for us
And van ginkel whom I have no knowledge of
Our midfield has been a problem ever since we ripped it apart back in 2010 after the double. It's never been the same since then.
We don't have a deep lying playmaker though
KDB has never played CM for us and is leaving anyway. Mikel will possibly be sold. Luiz has only played once in midfield under Jose who obviously therefore prefers him at CB/prefers others at CM.
Ramires, Matic, Lampard, Romeu, Chalobah could possibly be our midfield options next season. I'd be happy with that.
If hazard Oscar and willian keep on adding goals to their game, I'd prefer the majority of our budget to be used on your midfield.

He has never been linked with bayern as far as I'm aware but has been with barca but there not exactly renown for their good CBS or defenders in general. He would be a better player their because his casual play is more suited to them and they have the ball for the most part of matches. You wouldn't been astonished if you'd watched him every week for the last few years why he gets a bit of slack.

Had a stormer? Lol played well in patches but was missing in the midfield for a lot of the game.
I'd rather wait till summer and see what needs to be addressed. Ramires is playing well and mikel has stepped up this season and looks fitter

Nick do you think a player is involved in direct on the ball play for 90 mins? You are often accused here as being a Luiz hater. I wouldn't go that far but really look at that game again, the pass for our second goal to the right wing, the timely interceptions in midfield against a Liverpool side that ripped through man c a few days earlier. The worry on the day was how we would cope without the rami. If I remember correctly you made an article about it. Now we got the result you want to underplay it.

How true are the Luiz to Barca stories but?
From the Barca camp they always said that they were not signing a CB due to having 2-3 kids they felt could fill the position. Then it was Thiago Silva or no one after two of them failed to show enough.
Yet Barca have been linked with pretty much every half decent CB for about 4 years.
When Barca want a player they are not coy about it, bids are made and negotiations start.
I just don't see anyone coming in. Not that I mind is prefer we wait for romeu come back who IMO looks as good as Matic at Valencia.

The same Romeu who has only featured in two league games so far this season for Valencia? You clearly haven't seen him play since he last played for Chelsea, and in my opinion he's never shown the talent that Matic has.
Romeu is a solid play though, and would add a lot to Chelsea's squad, but i don't see him as a first teamer, especially if Chelsea were to buy Matic.
So what we should believe is Luiz is two bob and we should out him asap on a free before he does any damage.
I'm all for diffrent view points but this continued and unjustified putting down of Luiz is laughable at best.
My own view is he is a one off. Sure he makes the occasional mistake but he takes the risks. He could sit back and wait on defenders rather than read and intercept. He could crunch into tackles rather than try and come away with the ball at times, when they come off then its a joy. He is becoming less risky since Jose recalled him but I would hate to see him eradicate that part of his game completely.
I am looking forward to the world cup and watching him amongst other stars do there stuff.
