Rangers said on friday that they had withdrawn the bid because his injury will not be cleared before the end of august transfer window
the truth is it is probally more likely we couldn't agree a reasonable wage for him to come back
hopefully he runs his contract dowwn and is free next year or in january
if there is no fee involved we could maybe get closer to the wages he wants
Lol this is old news sunshine!!! We said on Friday that we didn't want him at Rangers....

'Sunshine'. lol
Course you don't want him, 'sunshine'
Dream on ya dafties, you havna got a chance of gettin him for your rubbish league that no-one is interested in, wants to attend, or even wants to pay to see; and that's why you can't afford his wages, cus ya pash. How did the qualifying go in the CL?
How did the qualifying go in the CL?

We got beat.
How did your qual....... oh wait.
debear,
I think even Wigan would secure a spot in the CL if they played in the SPL. The standard is rubbish. Villa would win that league by a mile.
Aussie,
Dont agree fully - the standard is not as bad as you think.
Our media are 'half empty' yours are 'half full'
For all of your money it still meant nothing at the last WC.
And by the way I support all the home nations in the big tourneys - not through any zealous nationalism. Mainly due to family.
I can assure you that the Champs league music is sponge tinglIng when you hear it played in your stadium. You may yet get to hear it but forgive if I don't bet my mortgage on it....
*spine tingling!
Although - I'm starting to like sponge tingling
<newusernamepredictivetextsmiley>
de bear,
You can have my mortgage- I hate debt.
The music may sound sweet (do you hear it for long or just once or twice in August?), but you know what is even sweeter? Knowing your team has actually won the comp! Rangers have won it haven't they? Or was that Celtic?
Rangers should have a guilt complex for being in the early stages of the CL every year (briefly). It is almost akin to beating up the 'special kids' and taking their lunch money. Although, I suppose St Mirren,St Johnstone, Inverness are all powerhouses! Do you lot beat up on old women too?
Sorry, mate. With respect, the standard is bad. I have seen many times, SPL games on telly (never actually thought to go see one)- although would love a Rangers/Celtic derby for the atmosphere. Standard is really poor and I honestly think Rangers/Celtic would be relegation fodder (or thereabouts) year in, year out. Certainly wouldn't qualify for Europe, not even Europa League.
Nether Rangers or Celtic have won the Champions league.
I have heard the theme many times through the years.
Give us the £50m and I can assure you we would not be relegation fodder.
If teams that have no chance of winning a comp shouldnt enter it then why are AV in the Premiership?
Ha ha, we founded the league you muppet, it was our idea, and we provided the first chairman. Fans include the next king and the current prime minister. You get a place for basically winning a league like Finlands. Joke club in a joke league that survives on hate. Wouldn't do well in the EPL and most importantly, we don't want you or your country. Please leave the UK and take your rubbish football with you, instead of barking on about scrounging our cash, both on and off the field.
Nether Rangers or Celtic have won the Champions league.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Celtic won it in 1966-67 beating Inter 2-1. Or do you just wish they hadn't? Still, you get to hear the theme music for a bit I suppose.....
Or let me guess, your going to get me on semantics; 'wasn't called the Champions League' then, was called the European Cup... same thing.
Villa 1982 European Cup winners!
UTV
the champions league is nothing like the european cup
it shows your knowledge of the champions league pal
celtic once got to the semi finals of the european cup by beating boldklubben, silema wanderers and ujpesti dozsa
now it is imposible for one of us to go that far
Rangers and celtic regularly appear in the champions league
aston villa have appeared in the european cup once and never got near the uefa champions league
i hope you savoured it in 1981
it's never coming back
What he said! ^
Why you so grumpy anyway?
cuellar is worth every penny if not more than 2mill.
anyone who signs him for that will be rubbing there hands, daylight robbery for that kind of money.
i really do hope he stays even if it means running hes contract down and leavin on a free.
Polloks,
Obviously the European Cup was a different format to the CL. I am not disputing it was different. All I am saying it, Celtic have won a European Cup (now known as the Champions League). Have Rangers?
Villa beat Bayern Munich in 1982, not 1981. But I suppose, Bayern Munich are pretty hopeless aren't they. Celtic beat Inter Milan in the final, Inter who? I hear you say.
So, what you are really suggesting is teams like Liverpool, Real Madrid, Bayern, and even us, our European Cup is not the equivalent to the Champs League? Wake up buddy. You tell any Liverpool fan that anything won in those days is worthless, and I bet you will find your TV missing the next day.
Are you really that deluded to think that you get into the CL every year because you are good? You play in the worst league in Europe FFS! As I said earlier, teams like Wigan, or even Blackpool would probably win your league and thus qualify. How far do you normally get anyway? Rangers and Celtic just make up the numbers for a few weeks until the wheat is sorted from the chaff. You will never win it at all- because you play rubbish football in a joke of a league. If you came to the EPL, you wouldn't get out of the relegation zone.
AVFC- 1982 European Cup winners
Rangers- First round CL fodder.
Rangers- UEFA cup finalists 2008
See what I did there?
Nobody was saying those trophies are worthless - jeez o.
I'm never gonna change the team I support any more than you are.
If course there will be a lot more CL exits than decent runs, but I'll be able to tell my grandkids (if I have any) that I saw my team play in a Euro final and the fact that they played in the worst league in Europe (your words)just made it all the more special.
PS Celtic getting to thier UEFA cup final was arguably harder to achieve than winning the big one in 1967.
