We tore teams apart at times without him last season. We will do so again.
Just glad its all over to be honest.
Batmanu - Arsenal respect players that's why they don't play those games with players. Maybe we are too soft, but Wenger would never allow a player to be treated like that, unfortunately.
BTW - Cesc lied to Wenger also, I think he just realised it recently too

What you are trying to say that we should have forced the player who has basically been on strike for the past two months to stay at the club? That would have been exactly what our demoralized dressing room needs to lift their spirits. A captain who is on strike.
Wenger: "Nobody dismisses signing Joey Barton but I don't think we envisage doing that at the moment."
Equally, he didn't want to publicly state his desire to leave, as it would unite every Arsenal fan in hate against him, and should the move fall through, make the next twelve months of his life very difficult.
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
But that is what he did with this whole saga now. We all know at some point the guy would leave. If he would have come out maybe at the end of last season and said: I want to go home..or something like that. I hadnt such a problem with that. But to say I am happy and pull all strings in the background is so hard to take.
It is not so easy to keep a player who doesn't want to play for you anymore. I think arsene had that in mind and just wanted to get the money and move on from this situation.
i'd like to have been a fly in the room when wenger had a heartfelt conversation with fabregas trying to convince him to stay. i bet it was emotional.

I know, but if he had said that last summer, for example, when Barca didn't have the money, he would have had every Arsenal fan on his back last season.

That is excactly what I believe. He lied to Wenger. And that is what he really doesnt deserve for all he has done for him. Its so ungrateful. I cant believe Cesc did it.
Wumpatrol Cesc is our best and most influential player. There is apparently unrest in the dressing room because we have agreed to sell him. There are rumours that Gervinho believes he was brought to the club under false pretenses. This is all speculation and probably not true but you can see what I'm getting at.
Cesc has been with us for 8 years, made over 300 appearances, is our best player. I don't think anybody would have a problem with Cesc if he didn't leave. You only have to look at the Spud players celebrating that Modric who has publicly begged Chelsea to sign him is staying. There is very few if anybody in our squad who would refuse Barca anyway!

Well Gervinho is dumb to think that Cesc would not be sold, maybe not Nasri but everyone knew that Cesc was a gonna after another trophy less season.

As I have pointed out before, gervinho said in an interview he believes manager will replace fabregas and nasri if they were to leave. I think everybody knew fabregas was going this summer anyway.
"Well Gervinho is dumb to think that Cesc would not be sold, maybe not Nasri but everyone knew that Cesc was a gonna after another trophy less season."
Yea but if Gervinho was told "Cesc and Nasri won't leave" then it isn't exactly his fault is it? It's probably not true anyway, just Sky stirring shlt as usual.
really, i think fabregas himself put arsenal in an untenable situation; because he wanted to leave, he alienated a large portion of the fanbase, and he caused consternation in the dressing room by forcing his team-mates to question the club's ambition.
but his insistence on only joining barca caused the real problem - they knew that they were the only buyers, which meant they were happy to play the waiting game and mess arsenal around as much as possible. because they knew that arsenal wouldn't get to a point where they would say 'ok, you want to play games? do it with someone else.' they knew that, by now, cesc was desperate to leave and arsenal were keen to sell. and they knew it would be on their terms because cesc didn't want to go anywhere else.
lexington, i will make sure i have a good read of that when i'm in a more emotionally stable frame of mind.

That's true. He inadvertently screwed us with those comments a long time ago.

If anybody has twitter, I suggest that you lot bombard him with abuse!
Like "Fabregas you Spanish C*NT, Are looking forward to getting a major rim job done by Xavi soon!?"
Koscielny Patented Proof Readers (U7373): Spot on mate. He put us in bad negogiation situation. As he said in the interview in Madrid: I dont want to make the same mistakes again.... So I assume it was planned by him.

Don't forget to post some of that abuse here.

Make the abuse on his twitter intelligent at least!!
Like we know what he really did!
Now that this deal is finally sorted I find myself not to bothered ultimately......it's nothing like when Henry left and I was watching the telly with an empty feeling inside.
He's been a top player for us and has contributed so much in eight years. Replacing him is going to be incredibly difficult, near impossible.
The circus that surrounded this deal has been incredibly wearing though and I'm glad it's over. Hopefully Nasri will push off soon as I don't want players who have no wish to be at the club to wear the cannon.
Now we have to see if we're serious about competing by bringing in the reinforcements that are so necessary now. A few 17 year old attacking midfielders will not suffice......a crucial few weeks awaits.
