Point 1: I am sure we can find another player who enjoys being offside very easily actually
Point 2: dembele has been sick of late. Still prefer azza and walker though
Point 3: looks to have developed decent all round play, but can't hit water if he fell out a boat
Point 4: your a more lazy can't with no potential
I agreed re: not replacing Defoe. And I think it could be a mistake. It's a gamble, those 12 games after he's gone will be crucial, and effectively having only two recognised strikers - when the manager prefers us to play with two up top, is a risk.
Dembele is a quality player but hugely frustrating. He has all the skills, but doesn't do enough with it. I think with Pauline and Sandro back, Dembele might be pushed out.
Soldado still looks quality to me, but he simply has to find the net. He could've had a couple assists yesterday from his superb link up play. But he was brought in to get us goals, and he's simply no delivering on that front. Yet. I hope...
Agree on Defoe
If shielding the ball was the most important skill in football Dembele would be world class... Sadly it isn't. Loses the ball far too often in the middle. Should only be used as a holding player. I like Dembele though...
Soldado... We live in hope
Top 4 is a possibility but will only happen if Everton have an injury crisis (which is likely). For me they are the best of the rest (after Arsenal, Chel and City). Martinez
One thing I noticed about Soldado yesterday was when he set up that chance for Eriksen just before he scored. If that had been Defoe he wouldn't have laid it off, he'd have tried to get a shot off.
Not sure if that is because Soldado is short on confidence and feels someone else has a better chance, or he's more of a team player who is willing to give up chances if he thinks a lay off is the better move.

I think the way Sherwood is going to integrate Chadli and Lamela into the team I really don't think we will miss Defoe as much as you think. Sherwood said the other day he believes Lamela and Chadlis best positions are playing up top just behind the striker meaning effectively we have 4 options upfront if Sherwood goes with this. We have so many options. We can go Lamela behind Ade upfront, Lamela behind Soldado upfront, Chadli behind Ade upfront, Chadli behind Soldado upfront, Soldado and Ade together, Chadli and Lamela if we are in a crisis. I'm looking forward to seeing Lamela up top.
hey don, yeah me to, like you I have so much time for lamella and firmly believe he will become a world star just hope its with us
Sandro, been preaching about him for ages on here mate as you know and it's not just his price tag, I have seen the guy 6/7 times for Roma so know his ability. We have to give him a chance, he is fantastic and will show it if we give him chances.
Lamela was always seen as the successor to Totti at Roma so there's no doubt he can play through the middle. The sooner he gets a run in the team the better for me, though I'd like to see him initially coming on in the second half of games when there should be a bit more room. Once he gets his confidence I've no doubt he'll fly.
I'm sorry but Lamela will need a lot longer to adjust to the league, I watched a lot of Roma last season and he was sublime for them, irrespective of his price tag , players like Townsend, Lennon are more of a danger IMO
Thudd, I don't agree mate. This is what is holding him back not playing him then dropping him after a MOTM performance in Europe. He is good enough to start and play week in week out but we choose not to go this route
I'm with Don on this one, the only way he will adapt to the PL is by getting game time.
Don it was Sherrif FFS. A two bob Moldovan pub team . I'm a huge Lamela fan but sometimes you have to accept that some players are just not suited to the league and have to adapt.
The only game he's been a danger was Hull City ET
He'll come good, not this season
Sherwood obviously trusts other players
Thudd you are wrong you crease
The point is though, he finally started to play. That was the moment where he should have been given the chance to get some form going whilst his confidence was high. Instead he was dropped and brought back in for a much more difficult game v Man City...shocking man management
Anyway caaants injured so who gives a fack
Dr Nick will them fit in 12 months
If Lamela wasn't 30 million nobody would be up in arms that he isn't playing and the media wouldn't bring it up. Compare it to Sandro when he joined, he was about 8m and took about 6 months to adapt and nobody was bothered.
Given time he'll adapt and i'm sure he'll come good. With Sherwood on this that i'd rather him play when he can contribute than be 'half cooked'
Hard one with lamela. I can see why the management haven't been persistent with him. He's not exactly set the league alight. Lennon offers more atm and we can't really afford to sit and wait to find out if lamela is up to it. He should of taken his chances when he had it...Lennon is proven and I think eriksen needs all the game time he can get. Still hope he makes it though... You can see the qualitys there
Townsend - incredibly direct, positive, slightly selfish but is a constant threat and will work for 90 mins
Lennon - Less effective, dangerous in the final 3rd, and has worked on his defensive side, excellent away from home in a counter attacking team , like Townsend his final ball is questionable
Chadli - Inverted is his game. Tall, two footed. Not seen enough to have him in my top 4 wingers. Squad/impact player
Lamela - Our most technical 'wide' player. Loves to drift inside, rarely takes a player on down the outside, more an AM/CAM in the Eriksen mould. Very weak, would like to see him on a more natural left handed side to offer a direct route
Not worried too much about the forward situation. We have adebayor, soldado and kane. Lamela, chaldi, eriksen and sigurddson can play as a support striker if you will. We also have the luxury of Chadli and dembele who can both play up top as a stand alone forward.
Soldado will come good we have to play to his strengths though.
It annoys me soldado seems to attract criticism yet adebayor who is now playing to nearer his potential is not criticised. At least soldado tries ade never tries unless he wants to.
Always hoping for the best with spurs we are still up there so if we get a bit luck who knows what will happen.
Yeah no worries in the ST department like LLM says, Lamela, Chadli, siggy can all play in behind.
I think Sherwood would prefer Chadli middle eriksen left which is the opposite to their supposed best positions
Thudd, I don't care if it was only Sherrif mate, he looked bloody brilliant that game then AVB dropped him against Newcaslte for all we know he could of kick started his career from then on but instead we pushed him back further by playing him against City. Townsend made his name and got his chance because of a decent Europa performance against some 2nd rate team so why didn't Lamela?
