It seemed to be towards the crowd TBH

No, it can't be that, his eyes were too skywards, to someone up in the stands. My impression was 'payout on a bet' for the other person. Fantastic goal though, Mignolet didn't have a ghoster.

Don't no weather I am looking too much into it but was his goal celebration directed towards BR, to say you should have kept me on your books.

............

If so, he was wasting his time.

Charlie Adam just isn't a Premier League standard player.

Have you read what Bellamy had to say about him in his book? It's funny but at the same time you realise he cost us £6-7m and was/is shíte

In today's final extract from his new book, Craig Bellamy tells of how he was alarmed at the beginning of his new adventure at Liverpool when he saw Charlie Adam in training for the first time.

I met Charlie a couple of times before pre-season training began, and he seemed a nice lad....

He wasn't the brightest but then footballers rarely are. I consider myself to be among the cleverer footballers around.

Charlie is a true Scot, and he loves his beer. It's all he ever talked about at the start, having had a brutal close season with a series of lads holidays abroad.

Charlie wasn't a shy lad and told the squad all about his escapades, including vomiting into the swimming pool at 2pm one afternoon.

He was a fat **** too, Charlie, and he could eat for Scotland.

Some of the lads called him 'Rab', after the TV comedy character Rab C Nesbitt.

The first day at training and Charlie had a 'mare. He couldn't control the ball to save his life, couldn't get his breath and kept falling over while trying to run with the ball.

Players are always judging others, never more so than on the first day - first impressions count and though some of the lads found it hilarious, most were not impressed.

"Who's this ****?", one respected player said to me.

"I can't believe we've signed this useless ****", said another.

While one of the club's iconic players said to me, "I'd played against him last season and I knew he was ****, you're gonna need to step it up this season, Craig - cos this ****'s ****."

Charlie didn't have the best of seasons and he was sold on to Stoke. I wish him well.

The reason I ask is I'm sure I seen it somewhere where he says BR told him and Hendo that they weren't part of his plans so they could leave. Adam left and Hendo stayed and fought for his place and Adam has a few regrets because of that.

Yep, apparently after the first training session all the senior pros were like 'why have we signed this guy'. He really is an awfuly player. Great left foot but that is literally it.

................

I watced the last twenty minutes of your game yesterday, and this bit summed him up.

A cross came from the Stoke flank into your box, and Adam headed it back out of the penalty area to a Liverpool player in the centre of the pitch.

I doubt Skrtel could have made a clearance that good. and he heads it a long way.

Don't think Adam is a bad player at all - he was nominated as PFA player of the year whilst with Blackpool remember.

As for not being good in training, didn't they say the same about Mark Hughes? He was awful at training but then come match time he was a completely different player.

No.

The comments to him being completely different were in relevance to him being quiet and shy off the pitch and a complete basket case once he put the red shirt on.

Maybe so, but this didnt happen to Adam, he was the same player all the time.

Vidicshin - no, the quote I'm thinking of was during his time at Chelsea.

No idea on that one then.

Never heard it said about him during his two spells at United.

At Blackpool the team was based round him where everybody worked hard in and around him and he had a free role to pull the strings for them, he took all the set pieces and so on. That was never going to be the case at Liverpool and so he struggled.

Tfin

He struggled because he doesn't have the ability.

He stood out for Blackpool because he took all the corners and freekicks, not because he was a good player.

I liken him to SAF's worst ever signing. Ralph Milne.

The Future is now - Yes I know, he was virtually guaranteed a game at Blackpool too, I think that helped motivate him and keep him fit... he strikes me as the type who needs to be playing regularly.

Having said that, Matt Le Tissier had a team built around him... most people still rate him as a world class talent.

Vidic - I think you are being a bit harsh on him, he is an international ... and player of the year nominee, so he can't be that bad.

Would have always been interesting to see Le Tissier at a bigger team, but respect to him for staying on at Southampton. For me Le Tissier had a lot more about his game then Adam ever will.

Good grief yes.

It isn't even close.

It looked to me like he was acknoweldging someone in the crowd and was doing a gesture liek he was counting notes. My first thought was he had told a mate to back him to score or something.
