Famous for his semi final winning goals v Chelsea - CL 2005 and FA Cup 2006
Great little player, who scored some big goals.
Enjoy your retirement Luis.
Spot on Greatteams.
He scored some very important goals and never hid, but my god, he was really frustrating to watch. He would run with it when he should pass it and would lose possession more times than not. Still, for the big, big goals he scored I will remember he fondly, but 90% of the time he could have me pulling my hair out.
I was one of his biggest fans.
Never understood the criticism of Luis Garcia
Ok - he lost possession at times but he was the only player in the squad willing to have a run at defenders
One of Liverpools greatest signings of the last 25 years

The title of this article got me excited.
Then i noted the Christian name wasn't Javier.
LUUUU-ISSS GAAAR-CIIIA
He drinks Sangria
He came from Barca
To Liverpool
He's five foot seven
He's football heaven
So please don't take our Luis away
He was the embodiment of the 'cult hero'.
I loved the lad, yes frustrating but for some reason he was just a legend in my eyes right from the start and the big goals just compounded that.
Also had one of the best chants we've had for years
Luis Garcia LFC Legend
One minute he was Lionel Messi, the next he was Lionel Blair.
Agree with comments. But you know what - I loved watching him play, he was so happy on the pitch. So cute I wanted to take him home with me. Good luck Luis Garcia. YNWA
I think Garcia was about the most un-Rafa like player that Rafa signed.
He was ill-disciplined in possession, delightful and disastrous in equal measure. He held the keys but misplaced them as often as passes.
What was Rafa like was his big game mentality, like Kuyt he scored goals in big games, and not just tap ins either, great goals.
Good guy, cult hero, good player but not a great one.
I bet Mourinho is glad he has retired so he gets to watch a load of replays of the ghost goal
A good player who had a lot of fans myself included
best of luck to him
Straight to an old people's home with most of these ex-footballers what with injuries and so on.
Love the Luis Garcia chant, so good.
Great player too.
