Liverpool looking at McCourt?!

Completely ludicrous.

The journalist just thought:

"Oh, Liverpool may need another winger. Better think of something. Hmm Let's see a British winger under the age of 30. Oh, that Celtic player scored a goal with Northern Ireland, I'll make that up! Add a few cliches, include no quotes...done!"

Lazy journalism again!

Charlie Adam couldnae hold a place in Rangers 3IAR team yet he managed to get to Liverpool! £27 million for Mcgeady not only lazy journalists but lazy scouts!!!

McCourt needs a move. He's far too good to be languishing on the Celtic bench only getting a look in every so often. He's not a Liverpool player so the journo is way of the mark. He would make a fantastic championship player.

I think McCourt could offer a lot more to the team if given an extended run in the team. In the first half of last season he did get an extended run and looked well worth his place and made valuable contributions on a regular and consistent basis.

In January we signed Commons and Paddy was dropped. Commons' form was very good and Paddy didn't get a look in after that. I think he was unlucky because he didn't deserve to be dropped, although you couldn't argue with Commons' form in the latter half of last season.

If McCourt gets in and gets games under his belt I think he'll be a revelation. I have a strong sense that that is what may happen this season.

Lets be honest any pro player that took 3 seasons to get fit has other issues! undoubted class on his day but why so few days?

Arise Sir Walter

Quite agree. On his game he reminds me a bit of Best with the way he skirts by defenders as if they're not there; close control second to none; but so few and far between these games.

Hopefully he wont be lost to the game, but wouldn't like to see him on top of his game against the Gers.

McCourt like all (in his case potentially) great wingers disappears then with a flash of genius scores a PEACH! or splits a defence with a pass/cross that no one else can see but the drink and cigs seem to be this guys preference! Did he not fail at Rochdale? Someone needs to show him what he could be and get him to commit! If Lenny cant perhaps Ally's yir man we all love NI players!

Now that's a thought, Sir Walter.

I thought it was great that the Windsor Park crowd in Belfast showed they're appreciation of his talents last Wednesday night. Paddy McCourt could potentially span the divide in being appreciated for his talent in the way that Barry McGuigan did in the '80s, or Best or Whiteside did back in their day.

At the end of the day it really is up to him, but I've a strong sense that Neil Lennon is well disposed to give him every opportunity to add consistency and a bit of steel to his game.

It's now or never for Paddy McCourt, his chance will come this season, hope he takes it.

About 5 minutes into this Pat McGuigan sings Danny Boy BEFORE the fight against the reigning champ Pedroza. Pedroza was going for his 20th defense of his title.

At least Greece, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Ireland and France can call themselves sovereign countries to some degree - within the confines of the straight jacket that the financial world has imposed on all and sundry.

I digress, bonny Scotland is merely a region of the UK or England is it? The Beeb were told to stop referring to the riots as UK riots and told to call them English riots. Is there really much of a difference? Strike for Scottish freedom lads, as Mel Gibson might say. No time like the present I say if you really have pride your "country"
