Would a title this year be Wenger's best?

Remember when 2011-12 was voted the best ever Premier League season?

Definitely

If he manages to pull of the title, many of the last 8/9 previous years would be forgotten.

The competition is fierce as there are 6 teams who are very strong.

I don't know whether we get an opportunity like again but I really hope Wenger does something this month in terms of signings.

It could give us another amazing lift

03/04 was probably the best because of us being invincible, but I think a victory this year would be better because we'll have done even more than that year to achieve it.

Without a shadow of a doubt

97/98 was the best, as we didn't really look like champion material before Wenger rode into town.
This would be close, but for me I never doubted we would be back challenging for titles once the 'stadium effect' turned positive.

It would be his finest achievement because his 2002 & 2004 EPL title wins came with the best team in the league and his '98 win was vs only one other serious competitor.

If he did, it would partly be in-spite of himself. It's fairly clear that he isn't going to upgrade on Giroud this January and if he doesn't then the title will be heading elsewhere.

If he manages to win the league with Bendtner as back up then yes!

Anyone that wins the title bar City this season then it's an automatic fantastic achievement

No chance.

How can you compare this season, if we the title to the one that will be never repeated in top level football, maybe never in any top level sport?

it would be incredible after the majority thought his time was up, victory is always sweeter when you prove everyone wrong.

The AKB will think its the best because they will be able to say I told you so.

Everyone else will think its the Invincibles.

Hate to think what that makes me... But I bet it is rather rude.

I've never been an AKB and I think this would be the greatest title victory, because of the level of competition we're facing, and the financial situations of our rivals, in comparison to previous seasons.

I agree with you on that regarding this team to teams in the past.

Apart from the invincibles then yes.

Why will we not win the league with Giroud? We have been top of the league all season with him.

Quite a few people said getting top 4 was going to be Wenger's biggest achievement in 11/12 &12/13 seasons during those seasons.
But yes winning the league this year is probably going to be as good as 97/98 if not better.

The OP has a very valid point, and it's nothing to do with AKB. The level of competition now is at its most fierce, and any team that wins the title has huge bragging rights. The Golden Trophy was a massive, unique achievement, but the competition and opposition was not as frightening as it is now. After being written off even for 4th place by everybody, I would enjoy this title more than any other. Man U are the defending champions, yet they will be lucky to qualify for Europa. That's how tough this league has become.

03/04 invincible season will always be looked at as a greater achievement in my opinion. Just place yourself 20 years from now and ask yourself if the invincible season or 2012/14 was the best achievement. 2013/14 will just go down as a win and nobody will consider that the opposition were better. You get me?

With all the other major contenders having changed manager this season, I don't think it would be so huge tbh.

Also, this "anyone can beat anyone" mantra is pure media fabrication. In 1998, the league was won with 78 points. That points tally wouldn't have won a single PL title this century.

Huh? I take it you mean the Invincibles? It's already been done since.

Anyway, 03/04 will go down in history as one of the greatest achievements of all time in football so it wins for me, but if we win it this year I think it will have been more difficult, if that makes sense.

Yes skins it does make sense!

All wenger's title seasons have been either doubles or undefeated. This season would be great but only for a personnel point of few due to 10 years since we last won it and against money cheating teams like Man C and Chelsea. But it will not be our greatest league. That's 2004 and 1989 .....

I don't know if it would be his greatest achievement but it sure be an amazing win.
Imagine winning the league without a proper striker.

Errrrr, what is Giroud then?
