"Why do football fans think clubs should overbid, or even match, a players valuation in initial stages of a transfer discussion."
I agree that fans do that but what I am getting at is the Lascelles has developed significantly from the place where Arsenal previously bid £2m more. There is starting low and negotiating but that seems fairly derisory and pointless if that's the figure.
No but it's good to discuss. If you read through the lines, I'd say Lascelles agent is propelling this one. He'll be trying to get an improved deal whilst in a transfer window. Davies will no doubt mull it over and will have "facts" at his disposal. Unless Wenger or any other manager actually comes out and say that they are bidding for him then yes, it is all speculation.
It's worth discussing though
Yeah, of course. But from what I'd read above it sounded like there was evidence of a definite bid. Glad to hear there isn't. Funny how people refuse to believe one story in the papers - the Davies West Ham for example - but take others such as this a lot more seriously.
The Davies camp have at least tried to portray themselves as being genuinely annoyed about the West Ham story
Convincing, no? I remember something similar about Rangers before he basically started begging for the job.
This is the press for you though.
shh... it is unlikely that we will hear anything until the club confirm either way.
It could be the press, as usual, trying to stir things up for us.
It is no surprise that they have picked on our two best, up and coming stars (Darlow and Lascelles) to highlight in their articles recently.
Every one needs to be told that Lascelles is not for sale.
At 23 or 24 years of age with 2 years Prem' experience with us under his belt he is worth 15 to 20 million.
I can't believe what I'm reading here and from Forest fans too.
What's not to believe, Bear?
Those suggesting it's in the clubs interest's to sell him now Strett!
