Don't think Clark is going anywhere! Fans need to get used to that and hearing fans chanting 4-4-2 on Saturday was a little silly.
I agree Hoyle wont sack Clark wherever we are at crimbo, He will have till the end of the season at the very least.
But i totally disagree, The team should be more than capable of beating both Bury and Dale and Clark should be setting the team up to do so, Not set up to simply stifle the opposition, Against two sides who will do little more than make up the numbers in this league we should be rolling them over not packing midfield.
Some of Clarks statements are laughable, straight out of the coaching manuals his latest comments about the Cardiff cup game " It will be a good barometer of where we want to be and how far we are away" blah blah blah "so it will give us a good idea of where we want to get to"
I know what you mean Inter, its as if English football fans are unable to accept that there are other formations other than 442.What is this obsession with it??If you watch the Premier League most teams do not use that 442 its the exception rather than the rule.A quick glance at the football league paper and it reveals out of 20 championship teams that played of Saturday only 11 used the 442 formation just over half. Can we stop getting hard on for 442.433 or 451 formations are not negative.
we just need to be more clinical, rochdale managed to score with there only 2 efforts on goal if we converted even 50% of our chances we would have beaten them, it will come in time, but if by christmas we are not sat in the top 2 places questions will definately have to be asked of clark, and i have supported him from the start of his tenure and want him to succeed.
I agree with Bryce 100% on this, Lee Clark is too happy with draws, and sees anything that isn't a defeat as a good result. As such he sets us up week in week out, home and away, to nullify the opposition rather than playing to our own strengths to try and win matches. Apart from a few teams in this league, we should be setting up every week to give the opposition a good thumping. I've never said Lee Clark should be sacked, but it's clear for anyone to see now that he is indeed under pressure and that the performances so far this season more than the results have turned even some of his previous fans slightly against him.
Was it you or your mate who called that result on Sat then Cas? Remember one of you saying 2-2
That's my brother, but it was indeed me who called the result, maximum points in the DATM prediction league for getting the 2 scorers correct as well, wish I'd put a bet on that!
You'd be a rich man Cas,betting is great with hinsight.I had a £10 accumalator yesterday Chelsea,Man Utd,Blackpool and Cardiff,in hindsight I should have know Stoke/Chelsea would have been a draw.Having said that Chelsea should have had 2 pens and won quite easy.Maybe the Chelsea fans will be calling for that new managers head soon!!!

4-5-1 WILL WORK..4-4-2 WILL WORK..
its the players who make it work...it depends how much they want to make it work..
4-5-1 is great if a couple of the 5 support the striker consistently and the other 3 have the confidence and the legs to get up and down..
we have 2 central defenders who cant run, therefore the holding midfield players and the other 3 are nervous about leaving any gaps for the opposition to run at our two large statues..
the way we play 4-5-1 is negative, its dull, it does not impose itself on the opposition, no matter how poor they are and it wont get enough points..
4-5-1 is required to be fluid and relies heavily on motivated, fit individuals in the midfield, we have gary roberts on one side looking fairly disinterested , mcdermott on the other looking lost and gobern and miller in the middle trying desperately not to get caught too far forward, leaving arfield to run up and down mostly on his jack jones.. being honest this was enough to score two goals and we should have had a couple more against a woefull rochdale side...how annoying does it have to get before clark makes a positive decision in a match(that isnt already lost/won)??
38, i agree with your comments and its the players that make the formation work. 4-2-3-1 or 4-5-1 should work, we have the players do it, so why is it not happening???
We could question the support for Novak in the middle, or wingers not getting involved, but why, do we really think this is how Lee Clark wants us to play? I seriously doubt it and the players need to step up and be counted.
jimbo exactly. lc cant be blamed for roberts not giving a frig. if hes same tomorrow night then we can blame lc cos he hasnt dropped the tossa!
but the players do the work come kick off. i see genuine potential and i think once it clicks we will be the muts nuts!
