New manager at WBA, you would expect a reaction from players and a riase in performance levels. Lukaku returning to WBA may raise his game. Barkley out means we bring in Osman and continue to play how we did before. Will Big Vic be playing, he can look world class for 10 minutes then go missing for the rest of the season. Hope he has a bad day, but does well in the future as he always looks a player on the verge of hitting top form

Big Vic is out injured (again).

The good news about Long going is that it means more game time for Berahino!

I only saw the game he played against United earlier in the season....he gave them the run around. Glad he is out then.

That was his one good game for the season. He's been crrrrrrap since. He seems afraid to shoot which is never a good trait for a striker!

Big Vic is back and fit, I think.

His performance at Old Trafford is as good as I've ever seen from a lone striker. He now needs to add consistency in his injuries.

He's not prolific but would be a brilliant foil for the like of Berahino, Sessegnon, Anelka, Vydra and Amalfitano to feed off.

We'll have to agree to disagree on that one JH

We will.

He has all the attributes. He just has to get himself fit

Team I'd go with...

Foster
Jones McAuley Olsson Brunt
Yacob Mulumbu
Amalfitano Berahino Sessegnon
Anichebe

Sessegnon and Anichebe are both doubts according to the Mail so i'd be surprised if either is in the eleven.

For me:

Foz
Jones GMac Jonas Ridgewell
Amalfitano Yacob Mulumbu Vydra
Anelka Berahino

Old fashioned 442. Get Anelka up with Saido and let's get at 'em!!!

If Sess and Vic are out...then Vydra/Anelka in for Cic and Mozza in for Sess.

This game for me is like the Newcastle one. I can think of a dozen reasons why we should have lost it but we won.
My head says Everton to win 2-0 but maybe, just maybe, the lads will raise their game for the new man.

Do you lot think Anelka will play? Hasn't your sponsors giving Brom an ultimatum?

Wish I had seen your comment Alas

Guess I would prefer not to face him as he is a quality player. But should sponsors dictate player selection.....or are they using the publicity around this to get more exposure?

Our sponsors can go F themselves. Who are they to dictate who plays for our club and why are they only announcing it now. Why have they suddenly become offended by something that happened a month ago?

Precisely my feelings also JH.

If the club bow to that sort of pressure I would be amazed. If I were JP, I would tell them to fùck off and give half-a-seasons sponsorship free to Zoopla's biggest competition such as Rightmove etc.

How dare a second rate bunch of estate agents think they can dictate to a club of the stature of WBA. !

Grrrrrrr

It's a good way to bail on a sponsorship deal.

Zoopla have played a blinder, they've got a lot of free publicity out of this whilst at the same time condemning fascist behaviour. As a brand and a company they had to make some sort of stance against Anelka's actions.

@smadeley_star: Pepe Mel promises fans an immediate glimpse of his new-look Albion tonight. #wba http://t.co/C3EreKEl1L

Pepe Mel has already made an impression on his new West Brom troops - so much so that he received a standing ovation after his first team meeting.

The Spaniard outlined his plans for the future at the start of the week and even communicated some of his thoughts to the Albion squad in English.

Ben Foster said: “He was brilliant.

“The lads got up and he almost got a round of applause, it was brilliant.

“From what we’d heard his English was going to be super limited but he was fantastic.”

Mel has been training his stars hard ahead of tomorrow’s clash with Everton.

“It’s the way it goes when you get a new manager, you expect you’ll be doing long days and he’s got to get his point across and that’s fair enough,” added Foster.

“He needs to let us know exactly what he wants us to do.

“We were told his English wasn’t great but the first day he sat in the room in front of all the lads and gave a whole meeting on telling us what he wants to do.”

Foster wasn’t aware of Mel before his arrival as he rarely watches Spanish football.

But he’s been pleasantly surprised with what he’s seen so far.

“You can only go on first impressions and he seems a good guy.

“You want to see how he interacts with the players, you can get a grasp of if he’s a bit of shouter or a screamer or bawler but he doesn’t seem any of that, he seems very calm and the lads appreciate that a lot more than the other.”

So Zoopla are now insisting that Anelka plays without their logo on his shirt. Can we the fans insist on having Zoopla removed from OUR shirts?

Coxy we've had some brilliant shirts the last few seasons going back to 2007-08 spoiled by having the sponsors' names on them.
