You are currently clinging for dear life onto 4th spot when only 4 weeks ago you topped the league. As I pointed out, your form suggests that you should not be favourites for that 4th spot, but you are in the bookies eyes and bizzarely with quite a few pundits too.
Perhaps the bookies have to have you at such short odds because many deluded punters have bet on you finishing top 4.
Let's hope the bookies are down the ferrari show rooms come mid may picking up their new cars.

Phil still banging on about removing selected results to make himself feel better.
Suppose if the top four stay the same as now, Phil will say we shouldn't have finished fourth because the first three games are not indicative of our form.
Phil, the deluded one!

We've won 2 of our last 5 games and we're still on for a top four finish and we're clinging on?
Lets have this discussion after Everton have been away to Chelsea, not long, 22nd February.
And again, removing results to make an argument shows you have to alter the reality of the situation to make your point... Delusion!
comment by Redinthehead - At least we didnt finish 13th! (U1860)
Last season many a Liverpool supporter used the oft rolled out 'transitional period' excuse for the pi$$ poor showing under Brendum and pointed out you had a very good end of season which was indicative of your true form.
Now you lot seem to be shying away from this sort indication to form.Is it a classic case of double standards from the serial goalpost movers
We've won 2 of our last 5 games and we're still on for a top four finish and we're clinging on?
2 out of 5 is not great, you were to at xmas and could possibly be 5th tonight
Moving goalposts?
So removing not one, not two, but three results is quite agreeably delusional.
Cheers Phil
It's no secret that a new manager will require time for transition, and that with more time with the players, the manager's playing style will be have a greater chance to be transferred to the players.
The better end to the season is when Brendan had more time with the players as we were out of the Europa league.
As per the good season we are having this time around.
And by the same token Everton under Martinez. More time with the players rather than haring around Europe.
Liverpool and Everton have benefitted by the manager having copious amounts of time with the players.
That's the reality. Removing results to make an argument is really quite weak and pathetic.
Catch up with you on Feb 22nd!

Why Feb 22nd....why not at the seasons end, as you stated(earlier I believe) it is a 38 game season, you cant just cherry pick a date that fits your side of the discussion
Can't wait to see how much the likes of us,Spurs and United improve once the dreaded transition period ends.
If the improvement is as marked as Liverpool under Brendan was then I can only see Liverpool dropping down below all 3 of us.
See what I did there Redinthehead - At least we didnt finish 13th!
I see you've got no argument against appearing weak and pathetic by removing results!
Which was probably your intention all along - you know appearing pathetic.
Feb 22nd just around 1 month away - which is when Everton will have been away to Chelsea.
Liverpool are the weakest out of us Liverpool and Everton
Playing the redsheite at their own game and they don't like it,there's a surprise.
As I say,you discarded the first half of last season as it was transitional and it suited your argument, now me twisting things to suit doesn't sit too well with you.

So why are we taking out the first 3 results?? Is it because Liverpool won all 3 and Everton drew their first 3.
Riiiiggghhht, ok. This article makes perfect sense.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
As I've said several times on here, take out Liverpool's opening 3 fixtures in which they won 3 game 1-0 then their form since does not justify them being favourites for 4th.
Liverpool have had stability of having the same manager,Everton,Spurs and United haven't and yet they haven't made any significant gains because of that apart from the opening 3 games.
Only having 3 clean sheets out of the last 19 games shows that Liverpool are leaking goals on a regular basis and have inherent problems defending.
I hope the problems persist throughout the season and Liverpool's slide down the table continues.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why would you take out the first 3 games though? It doesn't make any sense. This really is one of the more stupid articles you've written philippa.
You are currently clinging for dear life onto 4th spot

You're a funny girl phillipa.

Is today's result a result you'd like to ignore Phillipa? Let's pretend it didn't happen
If you ignore the last result, Everton are still behind us
Table is now updated and it now shows we have gained 5 points on the champions at Christmas in the last 19 games.

It's a made up trophy, purely down to the amount of cringeworthy articles about top teams at Christmas normally win the title.
It wasn't even just gotbitter doing them.Good job reality came back to bite you with 2 wins from the next 5 games and the inevitable RS slide down the league.
Things never change for the RS

Yup by you.. The delusion is real and freely admitted hey Phil?
Not really deadinthehead,we were merely mocking sad case Liverpool supporters like yourself, who made article after article suggesting you were serious title contenders.
You do understand how mocking the likes of you works don't you?
^ oooooh a pent up Phil!
Of course, feel free to examine where I've made article after article of us being serious title contenders.
You wouldn't be lying again would you Phil, you know, making things up like "champions at Christmas" and "league tables with three games removed"
I'm not the one like a dog with bone like you deadinthehead.I've just looked at you embarrassing article of today.
This article I've composed has really got to you hasn't it?
Do you not see that it was written to highlight the pathetic excuses used to defend Brendums poor start to the season last season. The oft rolled out 'transition' period was used to explain your low standing in the league.
I have merely mocked you and your fellow RS by intimating that our 'transition period' was the first 3 games that Liverpool exploited but since then normality has been restored and once again we are a better team.
The thing I didn't factor in was the sheer stupidity of the likes of yourself.
You really can't see the mocking of all the RS from my article
