Fantastic for you guys if it does happen but I actually can't believe Chelsea are willing to do this.

Me neither to be honest

I just hope it isn't another wasted bid and hope the club have attempted to find out the situation before officially submiting the bid this time

@SkySportsNews: Sky Sources: Manchester UTD make £40m bid for Juan Mata through a third party #SSN

I'm not entirely sure it will. Of course Mata is a quality player, but Chelsea are more than covered in that position and the funds generated from that sale can help them buy a quality striker which is something most people believe they are lacking. I think Abramovich is actually working towards Financial Fair Play, which might actually be something positive for that rule but the whole rule is undermined by UEFA's ridiculous distribution system themselves.

I think Liverpool and Tottenham might just be sitting up and taking notice as they might have to act themselves to bolster their top four chances. Everton are also in the mix but have already signed McGeady for peanuts and are about to add Traore.

I am not sure how much Mata will actually bring straight away on an individual basis, but it will just give a lift to that whole club. It's similar to Ozil in a way, because since Arsenal signed him they have been excellent, yet Ozil has not came in and been Arsenal's best player. He has performed well, but the statement of intent actually helped so many other players and that could be the same with United and Juan Mata.

Why would we bid through a third party and notjust bid ourselves? Am I missing something here?

posted on 22/1/14

Shame to see him go but not sure yes what you need right now.

Do we have the cash in the bank? If not may explain to he 3rd party financing the deal....

posted on 22/1/14

I bet we've sent those Herrera agents to broker the deal

posted on 22/1/14

The use of the third party is strange, what does it tell you about the people Manchester United are actually paying to negotiate deals for them? Surely people in United's negotiating team would be desperate to be able to say "I was the man who brought Mata to United"...

Why does it have to be either/or?

If we win tonight, and we sign Mata then it's a celebratory crack off for all, isn't it?

"Mata >>>>> Ozil"

Here we go.

You haven't even signed the guy yet you come out with laughable bull like this.

If Ozil was at Chelsea he'd be playing week in, week out.
