The commentators said they had one shot on target all game and scored from it.
Not looking at their ability to hold on to the ball, because despite all that they were 'c'rap. I'm solely pointing the finger at David Moyes. I couldn't care how far the players have fallen in confidence, you are at Old Trafford, you are expected to play attacking football and comfortably beat the 19th best team in the league.
Was a pathetic show. Penalties mean nothing.
Our attitude in the 2nd half and in ET was frankly pathetic.
We sat so deep, continuously played long hopeful balls giving away possession far too cheaply time and time again and couldn't string even a small number of passes together. Hardly anybody was moving for the ball.
I feel for Moyes, I really do because this is in no way all down to him but he's failing miserably to motivate or inspire confidence in the team.
This team is badly in need of a lift and freshening up and hopefully Mata and one or two other players in January will do that.
On the plus side, it was nice to see Smalling excelling in his best position tonight. I've said for a while that he should be first choice and hopefully he now will be.

He's not helping those in the MoyesIn camp, for sure. As for Mata, he just wants to go to the WC and we're just the ticket to do it with.
To make it worst, he won't give the lad Zaha a chance to showcase himself. What did our wingers bar Januzaj do today that the lad can't potentially do. Ruining the little boys career just like he is going to ruin us.

There were several times when we should have scored Hernandez's miss being the worst. I just think confidence is low but the worrying thing is a complete lack of cutting edge up front. If we can get RVP and Rooney back and slot Mata in I'm confident we can turn things round.

Funny how one mistake can change the outlook on a game. If De Gea hadn't fumbled it probably would have been written up as a great defensive display by smalling and Evans. Heck Sunderland had a single shot on target in the entire 120 minutes didn't they with De Gea up to that point never tested. Just seems like everything that can go wrong does go wrong at the moment although it has to be said those penalties were embarrassing.

Couldn't agree more. The confidence is just so low at the moment that these mistakes keep creeping in. Hopefully Mata coming in will have the same effect as Ozil at Arsenal and give the players a bit more belief.
Moyes is a safety first manager. Not bold enough for United. Things will carry on much the same and for periods the top quality players will bail him out but overall he doesn't give the impression he can grow into the role at OT and sustain success.
There is no way a SAF would get back into that game tonight and lose!
