So let me get this right. You want us to keep on to a player who we will not play rather than have the 37M to invest elsewhere?
no, we're saying we'd rather he went abroad than to United
fgs, he's the sort of player who'd propel them back to the top
No. I want us to not sign Salah at all and sell Mata to someone other than Utd.
Just posting a headline I saw on the Mirror website. In light of the Twitter articles, which I assume to be pants, I thought people may be interested.
I was obviously wrong.
Salah wouldn't be such a bad signing tbh, clearly not in the same leasgue as Mata but then as a squad player we could do alot worse
Do United need him?
I see a whole array of top pundits like Linekar are questioning where he'll play for them.
His best position is behind the striker where Rooney plays when RVP is fit.
That means Rooney would have to go out wide where he is far far less effective.
If they move Mata out to the left instead then he becomes less effective and Januzj has to move where?
This isn't as clear cut as just saying he's a good player he will make them better. as Jose has shown it's how the TEAM is affected.
I'll go with linker on this one and question why they needed him.

You make it sound like money is a problem for Chelsea, you just resigned a player for over £20M.
The same player that cost you less than £5M a few years ago.

Mata is class. 32 goals and 55 assists over the past two seasons speak for themselves. Just because Jose doesn't like the fact he does not close down the opposition and track back enough does not mean Utd won't benefit greatly.

10 years trying to knoc United off the top, now they're down we're sending them a player who could take them back there

They need someone to rebuild their attack around. RVP is now 30 and injury prone and Rooney's future is very much in the balance, it wouldn't surprise me if Mata's an early Rooney replacement.
Mata at 25 is the perfect sort of player for them to rebuild around. Their 2 banks of 4 defensive approach should give him the freedom to play at his best. I doubt both Rooney and RVP will be fit at the same time much.
Just now they need someone who can give them a lift and Mata can do that. He can produce moments of genius from nothing which Utd sorely lack at the moment.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So to summarize they bought him to maybe replace Rooney and the assumption they'll have someone injured!!!
I would put Rooney and Mata on a similar level so they aren't gaining as much as some are suggesting although not many ex professional pundits.
To be honest bud, I find most ex pro pundits to talk utter garbage. Only a few seem to have a clue. Lineker is not one of them.
I agree that Utd are unlikely to be able to play RvP, Rooney, Mata and Janujaz (sp) at the same time but all top clubs have more than one player per position. It allows rotation and keeps players fresh.
