Yeah and I think therein lies the difficulty when comparing players because there's no exact methodology which we all abide by, because at what point do the less accomplished players usurp the more established? It's hard to judge.

I remember myself feeling uneasy about proclaiming Ronaldo better than Henry and Ronaldinho after the 06-07 season.

Ronaldo was the best player in the world that season, however, Dinho and Henry for many years prior had been two of the best in the world and Ronaldo wasn't in their class.

Hindsight tells us that Ronaldo was better than them at that point as they regressed and he went from strength to strength, but after that one season I was still wary of whether or not it was a one off of for Ronaldo and a one off for Henry and Dinho.

No sour grapes at all. Ramsey was average, I maintain that. But he's been brilliant this season, so credit where it's due. I just don't think you can all of a sudden go from being average to this world class player in the space of six months as there's no guarantee that he's established himself at that level, it could be that he's just in fine form. As my previous point alludes to.

Ramsey has been doing it since January. Almost a year and he is only going to get better. He will surpass the likes of Lampard and Gerrard.

But I don't agree he's been doing it since January. He was very poor prior to that and improved around January but I don't think he was playing any more than above average.

This season he's been exceptional so it's not as if I have some sort of agenda against him, I actually like the lad and always thought he looked a better prospect than Wilshere when they first broke through - great to see he's finally got over his injury as it was horrific what happened to him.
