His record is certainly excellent and only 21, but it's a big step up from Scotland. Maybe worth a punt if the price is right but if we didn't want to spend what Hearts wanted for Holt, not sure how much we'd be prepared to throw at this lad. It would also be one for the future though, so not sure if it's what we need now.
According to reports in Greece and Algeria, Djebbour is back in talks with us. This is from an Algerian online newspaper (it has been translated so the English isn't great):
"Rafik Djebbour , The Algerian international is poised to engage with club Nottingham Forrest Djamel Abdoun which also operates another compatriot.
Top scorer of last season with Greek 20 achievements, Rafik Djebbour will leave Sivasspor and Turkey where he was ready before.
According to our information, the Algerian international 29 years have reached an agreement with Nottingham Forest in the English second division to commit to a contract for two years and half.
Rafik Djebbour, who has 32 caps (5 goals) with the Algerian selection had other contacts with the German club in Frankfurt and that of Rennes in France but in England he chose to settle down for a new experience in a championship where it has never changed.
By finding Djamel Abdoun his compatriot, the duo who had sparks last season in the Greek league could therefore be reformed again.
2 Algerian international had splashed the season with their skills and performance in the past under the colors of the season Olympiakos ."
I'd be a little surprised if this happened after what went on in the summer though, so it's probably just lazy journalism or his agent.
It's a long Q of posters on here who will not bite at that, let's see Scottish so Shitte league, Peterborough sniffing around and a name that would cheer up any rival fan on a cold day.
On the other hand it does work sometimes, I remember a certain Craig Bryson being ridiculed on this board
Ever hear of him?
I don't fancy signing the Algerian lad at all after the summer debacle.
Agreed it is a step up but he has stepped up comfortably for the last 3 seasons and now he's doing it in the SPL. I know not all of the people that make that level make it south of the border but I reckon this one is worth a gamble.
I don't see it as one for the future either, I see it as an in form, confident striker who could slot straight into the team. If you could pick him up for less than a million, I see a gamble worth taking.
Have a bit of confidence in the unknown because signing strikers who have proved it at this level hasn't worked out well for us so far! There are a long list of strikers who have shined elsewhere but failed here......He could be the next Collymore or he could be the next Neil Harris...Be interesting to find out though!
And there's me thinking you were getting Jordan Rhodes? Why don't you just put in a bid for Bale or Pratley?
Or Hans Feltercrack.
I know he's been mentioned before but not as much as Youd luva Nibblehertitsoff , a skill in itself
Both suited to the forest anatomy
Isn't about time the Derby lads got some new material? Pratley! How long ago was that? The lads got to be ready for retirement.
You might just tempt him now.
Do you not think its a bit odd making jokes about players we missed out 6/7 years ago? I'm I life long Forest fan and I'm well and truly over us missing out on Pratley. It's very odd that Derby fans remember old Forest targets. Who were Derby trying to sign years ago, who cares?
I think maybe you should move on. When I see jokes about Partley it doesn't remind me of what we missed out on. It makes me think, why is he still thinking about that? Weirdo
"Who were Derby trying to sign years ago, who cares?"
Non-league players and no.
Apparently this guy has been impressive this season but 20 goals in Scotland what would that be equivalent to in the Championship? although we did get McCleary from nothing and he was player of the year so you just dont know.
Someone who used to coach me as a kid is a scout around Scotland and he's got a file on him and rates him very highly....He recommended him to Clough last summer but nothing came of it....He could be a good gamble for any club in the championship and at a decent price.... Patterson is starting to look a decent talent now and this lad could be the same....he might not get 20 goals a season straight away but if he gets 8 or 9 from now until the end of the season it would be good for any championship club.
