Its not annoying, it's just they way it is!

I wanted Coventry to win last night, I want stoke to beat Chelsea and I was screaming when Sunderland beat utd!

I get that but the coverage is meant to be neutral isn't it?
I even find it annoying when they do it with other top teams, the hypocrisy and the defending of the underdog regardless gets tiresome.

Its the FA cup, and people love the idea of the big clubs getting turned over.
Then when they do, and you end up with some pi$h poor teams lining up in the semis, people lose interest in the competition.

Yes I agree with what you are saying in general, but I don't think Bournemouth kicked lumps out of you today, in fact one of their big problems is they play some very good football but just aren't strong enough to hold the ball up in the final third or get on the end of all those crosses they put in your box.
It was a calm and controlled performance from Liverpool today, you knew you could score goals and just had to make sure you didn't concede any soft goals or easy chances and you'd be fine.

I don't think they did either, just referring to games in the past when it's happened (vs Oldham last season, for instance). Bournemouth are my second team so the bias was less painful for me today

Bournemouth are my dad's team and I went to see them beat Yeovil on Boxing Day at home. I've been to see them a few times over the years - normally it's bitterly cold and a dismal game of football - but this year I was genuinely impressed, they play some really nice stuff and Eddie Howe is a revelation. So today yes I was probably as biased as the ITV lot.
The fact is Bournemouth are very good at creating chances but they don't know how to turn those chances into goals and that is the difference. A bit of composure from one of their midfielders and they might have had a goal or two today.
Anyway a year or two ago Liverpool might have been vulnerable to a cupset but they really weren't today, just too clinical at the moment.

It's only in the FA Cup on ITV IMO.

I think Sky are generally neutral (favour the big clubs if anything).

It was very annoying today, but then as a Liverpool fan it's bound to be.

ITV are always the most biased channel for anything, England games are cringeworthy as well.

Commentary overall on most games is terrible no matter the game or cup! Everyone loves an underdog and a chance of a fairy tale David vs Goliath match! people get bored of the same teams winning all the time!

Bet ya don't mind the heavy Liverpool presence on sky thou a.......!?

Jeez! The amount of moaning on your board about the opposition would suggest you lost.

Yeah op. The liverpool match today was itv practically jizzing themselves into a frenzy when they thought a upset might happen, redknapp and townsend were abysmal.

Both thought there was nothing in it.....yeah ok, 2-0 and brad had 1 shot to save I think. Liverpool cruised the game in less than 1st gear. Nowhere near their best yet were really untroubled, itv were nit happy with this....not at all, they wanted an upset...demanded an upset yet they got nowhere near one.

Flamini's Shirt Sleeves

I was at that game in the East Stand as usual.

Bournemouth are my second team so while I wanted Liverpool to win of course I do have a huge soft spot for my local team.

I totally agree with the OP though - I hate the underdog always being made out to be saints. Couldn't stand Oldham or Mansfield - both crap sides to watch yet they were sanctified in the eyes of the commentators.
