every game of banega I have seen he has looked worldclass. But the gist I gather is he is not consistent enough and I have only watched him on his good days

Yes we should, will we though? Probably not which is a shame.

It's true that consistency is his biggest issue but if you've been watching him this season he's been in and out of the team and not been able to gain any real momentum or consistency.

When he is at his best, he is a top top player, make no mistake about it. The man has bags of ability and he's a stand up citizen as well.

What's not to like?

Pretty sad to speak about others who aren't even on the site as regularly as yourself.

Good first half from Banega.

Kept things ticking and moving quickly along with Parejo in midfield and he was involved in quite a few of Valencia's better attacks.

Set up Valencia's first goal with a ball over the top of the Espanyol defence although the defending in the lead up to the goal wasn't great.

Lads, just to clarify, I'm not any of the users you've mentioned - I'm a new user who has read the page for a while but never been bothered enough to create an account. Yesterday I was bored out my tiny skull cos there was no game so decided to join in

What I have observed of this player is that he's been at the same club for a while and, where there is definite ability there, dare I say better than what we have , a new challenge might spark him back into life, so to speak.

Let's be honest, it wouldn't be the first time a foreign player has come to England and really took off - look at Cantona!
