Rom was poor when we played Everton last week. Looks like his put abit of timber on. #Fatty
Yes, Everton are a much bigger club than us. Gate wise as well as aims and goals wise. Everton are fighting for Europe whilst we aim to just stay in the division.
Lukaku obviously have a soft spot for us but he'd never come here on a permanent.
Ask yourself the question would you prefer....
One Rom Lukaku or
Two in Anichebe and Sess ?
Lukaku doesn't want to be here, so it doesn't really matter.
I think you're right JH.... we have zero ambition other than staying in the Premiership and even that is debatable given JP's comments about us realistically being a mid-table Championship team.
Rom wasn't that good against us and it will not have escaped you that he hardly celebrated when Everton scored confirming his soft spot for us.
Pity really, as his value may have been considerably less when he was with us early on than his value now.
JH, why do you say
"Lukaku doesn't want to be here"
Has he actually publically stated that ? I've not seen any comment like that but may have missed it and if you think about it, who'd want to be in Scouseland !
He had an offer on the table from Everton and WBA on transfer deadline day. He chose Everton. Therefore, he doesn't want to be here.
I understood that JP & Co decided against the loan deal on account of the higher loan fee that Chelsea were asking over the previous season and it was nothing to do with Rom's wishes.
It's news to me that there was any offer on the table from Albion, either to Lukaku or to Chelsea. Chelsea were unwilling to sell Lukaku outright and they wanted a £5 million loan fee for the season 2013-14. JP declined to pay that but Everton coughed up. Part of me thought we lacked ambition there, but to pay a £5 million loan fee seems steep. I do agree that Lukaku probably wouldn't join Albion but I do believe he would have come to us on another loan deal for the season. I believe he was happy with us, scoring as many as he did.
Sorry, that should read 'I do agree that Lukaku probably wouldn't join Albion on a permanent basis' etc.
