Don't blame arsenal.com, that's what it literally said in the leaflets given to the press.
Puma >>> Hi-Tek
To be fair to be number 3 behind Nike and Umbro is a good achievement for Puma.
Arsenal announce partnership with Fila.
As DJ suggests, Puma ain't doing all that bad and they've come a seriously long way in the last few years, in a market that was until recently seen as a bit of a "closed shop".
Obviously there's a lot of investment internationally with Puma. This deal to sponsor Arsenal is big news for them and the figures involved show a serious level of intent. They are obviously looking at climbing that ladder and taking into account their progress of the last 5 to 10 years, if you were a competitor (Nike, Adidas, Umbro etc) you'd be very unwise not to take them seriously.
Isn't Umbro owned by Nike? Sure there's some sort of connection there.
Arsenal announce partnership with Reebok.
Moist agree. Didn't think puma would be getting that big. Reebok have gone down, for a moment it looked like they may break the market. But those boots released in 06 World Cup I think was the start of puma.

Obviously it's VERY subjective when it comes to what people like/don't like with regards to designs.
With the exception of a few pieces apparel (American Football hoodies, T's etc), IMO, Reebok have seriously dropped the ball (to use an Americanism).
Their designs were/are atrocious. Void of imagination & dull. I don't think it's a coincidence that Reebok have dropped down a peg or five.

Might as well throw in SPX whilst we're at it, eh..?
Never heard of SPX but they look they have 10 times the street cred of your standard Gola and 20 times as much bling

SPX were the last throw of the dice with regards to overblown, garish, 90's bad-taste-chic!
Lennox Lewis was sponsored by them (oddly) and they became synonymous with 90's rave culture.
Weird now, that Gola (& also Dunlop) are seen as decent brands. When I was at school, they were seen as the height of trash, so much so that they made Hi-Tech seem in vogue.
I guess there's a lot to be said for the "retro-chic" in casual sportswear? Take a walk around Shoreditch and in amongst the Porkpie hats, drainpipe jeans & kipper ties, you'll find many a Gola shoulderbag & pairs of Dunlop Greenflash infesting the sh'it-stained trendy streets, that 10/15 years ago shops couldn't giveaway!
My oap mum wears greenflash, that should say it enough about them
Reebok haven't 'dropped off' they were brought by adidas. They rarely produce anything for the UK now and nothing football wise at all as far as im aware. Their headquarters was moved to the US and thats where there market is now.
Also gola and dunlop are owned by Sports Direct, as well as Slazenger I think. Which is why they have increased in popularity over recent years.
I wanted nothing like Palace.
