69 - Since making his Premier League debut, Cesc Fabregas assisted 69 goals in the league for Arsenal; 40 more than any other Arsenal player since that date (15/08/2004). Departed.
I would prefer not to pin all our hopes and dreams on one player, and develop a system that is not reliant on one player.
We changed to a bloody 4-3-3 to get the best out of Cesc, never minding the fact that when he was suspended or injured it was often to the detriment of the team, and now he's gone, we don't really have that central midfield focal point.
Personally i like 4-4-2. Away games in the champions league and tough away games in the prem i think 4-3-3 is the way to go. My 4-4-2 team would be:
...........Sceznsy......
Sagna...Kos...TV...Gibbs
Gervihno...Rambo...Wilshere...Arshavin
RVP and Walcott
Against tougher teams bring in Song to play in CM. Arshavin i think should also rotate playing off RVP where he can be more involved and cause some serious damage going forward, plus if he isn't on the LW at least someone else will provide better cover for Gibbs. They key for me this year is killing teams off early, no reason why we can't be 2, 3 nil up at half time. More pressing off the ball to regain possession, and greater squad rotation
I would say a 4-3-3 might work better for Wilshere + Ramsey to play together and Song to sit back and help the defence, but I would still love to see a 4-4-2/4-4-1-1
I could really see us getting the best out of Arshavin + Walcott in those formations
