Think I'm over reacting.

Check this board ......

And new606. We may aswell not turn up according to those boards. Tonight is very hard to take. My morning hang over won't help but man up.

No matter what...... WE ARE ALBION

I believe that tonights defeat will prove to be the pivotal moment of this season. To allow four soft preventable goals being scored against us has resulted in our being 3 points off relegation and in a downward spiral.

The Championship seems a virtual certainty unless there is a miracle and its been left too late to recruit.

The BCD seems more and more a certainty each passing week. God help us against Liverpool and Chelsea.

If Billy Jones and Gareth McAuley were in that team tonight, we'd have won that game.

But we didn't.

2 days left to give Pepe some help in the transfer market. JP won't though.

Big trouble.

At least it will be more exciting this year. Last few seasons have been slightly boring, come seasons end (ignoring the 5-5 last season obv)

Pathetic is the word. To score three goals away from home - and we've done it twice now this season - and come away with only one point shows where our problems lie - in defence. I hope some of those Albion players are proud this morning.

Which Albion players are you blaming Aries?

Our back 4 are getting found out because of their lack of pace. When they sit deep, as we did under Clarke, RH, etc. it works. Our midfield did OK. Brunt and Mulumbu both had good games and we had plenty of possession.

Anichebe though? Has he managed to escape from Vlaars pocket yet?

Still utterly deflated after that. Shambolic defensively in the first half and Lugano's stupidity cost us the game in the second.

I'm not going to overreact though. Half of the problems defensively are personnel. As has been mentioned, if Jones and McAuley started we probably would have won. The only other problem is left back and that is the fault of the technical director and team for not addressing the position for 18 months.

Long ball sides like Villa are always likely to be a problem for us when we play a pressing game. Remember Southampton away last season where we went direct and tore their high line to shreds? We also had problems with West Ham's aerial bombardment. We will play better against the footballing sides.

Regarding the rest of the season there is no doubt we are in it and its vital that we find a way to hang on this season. Then in the summer we can begin to rebuild and clear out the deadwood, something that should have happened in the summer and we are now paying the price for it.

Fair play JH.
You seem to be taking it on the chin.

One difference between us though is that we know we are poor.
Your lot are still living in the past of those mighty days of finishing above the villa for a couple of seasons.
The quicker you move on from that, the better.

Would love the baggies to stay up.
Want more repeats of last night.

Believe me, we know exactly how bad we are mate.

Long hard finish to this season to ensure we remain in it.

Sunderland have agreed a 2.5mill deal with Brighton for Liam Bridcutt. A brilliant young player, who's British, and who I've been touting for years.

Teams around us improve their squad, yet we stand still.

Tiex.
With such a high pressing line, the best tactic is a long ball game.
Especially with defenders like yours.... old, slow and very obliging.

Can't wait for the dust to settle on this. I'm as disappointed as anyone to be letting in 4 goals there but you have to look at why. No Jones, no G Mac and Lugano is one of our worst buys in the prem era. Hopefully Pepe gets a couple in in the next couple of days to refresh us and then we'll start to quietly climb back up the league. We've got a better squad than 80% of the teams in the bottom half IMO.

Of course it is. In the first half you hoofed it to Benteke and it worked. You were through on goal practically every time. We have huge problems defensively and Villa exploited them.

I genuinely believe we'd of not let the 2 goal lead slip had McAuley been playing.

Fine lines but this has gone now.

We really need a lift on tomorrow's deadline day. We're apparently trying to loan a kid from Espanyol. Hmmm, we shall see, but I expect to be disappointed.

P.s I'm really struggling at work today. 2 Villa fans here, slightly hungover and depressed.

Did any baggies go in the Whitton last night. Was crazy in their. Flares and smoke bombs going off.

I'm not convinced a 'kid' from Espanyol could save our season!

Don't think anyone has said that would be the case have they?

Got to ground a bit late so we headed straight in last night. Thought the support was excellent throughout though.

Kudos to whoever made the Benteke song.
