Chicken - Mr Consistent
Just seen your new user name.
Mr Consistent.
You slagged off AVB for losing a couple of games, and yet praise Sherwood for getting knocked out of two cups and losing as many games in the past few weeks than AVB had in the previous 6 months.
Mr Consistent is certainly not what you are.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And used Sherwood's average points per game this season to back up how much of a better job he's doing than AVB.
Despite slagging off AVB all of last season, even though he holds the record of the best point per game average of any Spurs manager in the PL.
Cause he's Timothy's baby, and nobody's gonna take that away from him.
And what makes Bentaleb a worse player than those mentioned. Its not like they have set the world alight otherwise AVB would still be in a job???Whats the obsession with this guy..Since Bentalebs arrival in the team we played better through the middle , scored more goals and in general played as a team. There are players who dont play as well as him who gets less mentioned.!!
While his performances might be pretty good to date i dont think Sherwood is getting the formation/balance right.
With Bentaleb, Dembele and Paulinho/Eriksen, we dont have a proper DM and that was truly lacking vs City who had so much space between the lines.
Away at Hull having no DM and Bentaleb and the more attack minded Paulinho in the middle of a 442 meant our CM was not particularly creative or destructive, it functioned ok, at best.
I would much rather see a DM employed giving the 2 ahead in the CM a licence to get further forward. I think it has to be a choice between Bentaleb & Dembele because they both do pretty much the same thing and then Eriksen & Paulinho. The former 2 do not have any natural goalscoring instinct and neither are particularly creative where as the latter 2 do score and are more creative.
The perfect blend is DM (Sandro or Capoue), CM (Bentaleb or Dembele) and AM (Paulinho or Eriksen).
If we need to go all out you can have 2 AMs, if we need to defend we can go 2 DMs if we just need to be solid we can go 2 CMs.
I don't think changing the system and the players week on week helps anyone.
Eriksen and Paulinho have to be on the pitch at the same time. Eriksen on the left with freedom to roam while Paulinho plays as a attacking MF.
In my opinion this line up would be great for the next couple of games:
Sandro----------------Dembele
-------------Paulinho--------------
Lamela--------------------Eriksen
Townsend
Lennon
-----------------Ade----------------
sandy,
You slagged off AVB for losing a couple of games
===================
No i didnt.... I didnt mock him for scorelines, just as i didnt praise simply on scorelines, i mocked him for the style of management and negative tactics - all which were 100% valid. This is why i dont use the "one criticism quotes fits all".
I have used different criticism towards Tim, because quite frankly he is totally different to AVB and it would be absolutely stupid to accuse them of the same things, when they are nothing alike. Its called consistency in having the ability to know that the 2 managers are different.
Edbo,
Please read above. AVB and Sherwood are not clones. Maybe you need to broaden your views a bit and see beyond "Spurs coach". They do different things that will warrant different views, opinions, criticism and praise. You also need to look beyond the scoreline when making judgements, as this doesnt always say the same story. For example, you can get a deserved win or a fortunate win, as well as a well fought out draw or draw where we deserved all 3 points. As i say, one type of criticism doesn't fit all
Once Bale leaves,
There are players who dont play as well as him who gets less mentioned.!!
=============
I agree....
Edbo,
Oh and the Sherwood's stats comment was used in a tít-for-tat debate, albeit a totally relevant stat.
I think posters need to start leaving their sentiment towards AVB behind - just as the pro-Harry camp were told to after AVB's arrival.
AVB got the sack for his performances and results from this season - and this is where we need to focus on Tim.
We should have taken more from Hull and probably West Brom earlier - but we took points against United, Southampton and Swansea away, which perhaps deserve praise to even it out a bit.

One minute: I trust everything AVB does.
One minute later: AVB doesnt even have half a brain cell.
And you wonder why you are the laughing stock of the whole JA forum.

So he uses his bog standard quote below:
"<insert posters name here> is arguing".
Which is probably better than his opinion as this always turns out to be wrong anyway.
Kepp up the "<insert posters name here> is arguing" quote, Chronic.
To be fair you and Sandy could both have an argument in an empty room Chicken

To be fair, posters who see stating facts and giving opinions is “arguing”, probably shouldn't post on football forums.
If people want to nod and agree on everything, then they might prefer a chat room of some kind.
Thats my opinion anyway.

FFS we finally agree on something.

And the same goes for Edbo, all he/she ever does is click to find my comment, and attempts to have a dig at it....
I wouldn't call that stubborn as such, more obsessed...
Who remembers when Ginola dribbled the ball round all those players before finishing off that worldy goal? My how we cheered!
How about Paul "Eyebrows" Stalteri scoring a last minute winner against West Ham?
Sandy I bet you cheered! Chicken you must have rejoiced!
Think happy tthoughts and let's all have a cuddle!

Don't flatter yourself, I don't search for you on articles. If I feel strongly against something or feel you need to be proven wrong, in this case claiming you're consistent and fair which you're not being, then I'll comment.
It's nothing personal Chicken, but it just so happens that on many occasion I don't think you're consistent and the vast majority of the time I oppose your views.

When that Paul (the Canadian Pele) Stalteri goal went in, i had one of the best nights out ever.
I was watching it with a bunch of West Ham fans who were singing songs aimed at me all game, then for that ending to occur....well it made my day - and me and my mates (West Ham fans) still laugh about that to this day.
Brilliant.
