Don't agree totally with this. What we saw from West Ham was what so often happens to Arsenal. Chelsea had 38 shots and a combination of bad finishing, bad luck, the woodwork and great defending and goalkeeping kept them out.
What Chelsea do have that Arsenal, Man Td, Liverpool etc haven't got is resilience.
What they did tonight was win the ball very high up the pitch and attack City in numbers. They didn't stifle them deep. City just couldn't cope with Chelsea, who should have won the game 4 or 5 nil. Not just the woodwork but many times they were through on goal and should have done better. City had 2 shots on target as they had no possession in front of the Chelsea box. They were tackled on half way.
It's actually a very modern way of playing - what the top German sides and Barcelona try and do.
What Chelsea do have that Arsenal, Man Td, Liverpool etc haven't got is resilience.
- Ever since RA took over Chelsea have pretty much always looked strong in a defensive sense.

Not this season. The only teams (in the PL) to keep Arsenal out are Chelsea and United. Chelsea have the best tactical manager in the world and we choked against United.
We score against EVERY team these days.
Such a long winded way to be totally wrong

You said often happens to Arsenal, nothing like that happen this season, maybe you meant few years ago. I still think City midfield was suffocated from any more Oxygen, Yaya and Silva were tightly marked out of the game and Navas was busy dealing with an active Hazard and couldn't attack as he normally does also Kompany looked like he saw a ghost today, the Chelsea bus was actually fitted with some alloys wheels today.

Great to see the premier league like this!

I think we have played 36 games this season.
We have been kept out by Chelsea (PL and C1C), United (PL) and Napoli (CL).
That is 4 occasions by Mourinho, Benitez and Moyes.
We do not struggle against teams who park the bus anymore. The funny thing is that Giroud is the key to winning these games.
Giroud is slaughtered on JA because he can't win us the big games. But against the bottom 12 teams he is brilliant.
My point is that it always happens a few times a season. It happened to Chelsea and it will happen to Arsenal at some time. I am not saying it happens every week, it doesn't, not even to Chelsea who have no striker but it will happen.

to be honest, I'm just happy to see City get beaten and outplayed at home - even by Chelsea!
OP is quite correct on how Chelsea manhandled City today. Question is, do we have the players to press all game long? Ozil, Cazorla, Arteta, Jack, Rambo, Rosicky, Ox (despite of injuries) are all pretty much finess type players and prefer to have possessions than chasing the ball around. Flamini has a hot head and can get another red by chasing and being physical all game long.
We don't have that kind fo work horse to play like Chelsea today.
We didn't have Matic when we played you, he's made a big difference.
Mourinho takes players like Hazard and Willian and makes them 'that type'. If they can't do it, he ships them out - a la Mata, who is one of the most technically gifted players in the premier league. Mourinho prefers Ramires there to Mata and after what I've seen today, I can understand it. Chelsea's front line are explosive, hard working and skilful. As I said before, power is the new tiki taka.
So it nothing to do with Demichalis being god awful?
He wasn't actually half as bad as most expected, they had Rodwell and chose not to use him. Garcia wasn't 100% but again an option.
They were outnumbered in midfield and didn't make the extra man upfront count for anything, that was nothing to do with Demichalis.
Chelsea just bullied them. Pelligrini was a little naïve, as well as City being outplayed. You'll see the stats and think City battered Chelsea but apart from the first 10 minutes and the last 10, City were never in the game and were lucky to get away losing just 1-0.
Nothing to do with demichalis???? Did you even watch the game?
He was having a cup of tea whilst Hazard was dancing around just before the first goal
Playing 442 like City do requires two very dynamic box to box types not a crappy centre back that can barely run
Yep, watched it and watched the highlights again. Demi was outnumbered, yes a better DM would have done better but it was the manger who lost the battle with Jose.
Knowing man utd we will turn over arsenal, but before that lose to fulham.
He played two big similar big strikers against Cahill and Terry who just relish those battles when he had Jov on the bench and gave our best attackers all the space they wanted to operate, played in to our hands and should've been more.
I tell you what, I can't wait for Phil McNulty's piece on the game tomorrow, written from on location inside Jose Mourinho's colon.
Real in-depth analysis (puns intended!)

Jose parked the bus and played on the break. It is an age old tactic which works when the opposition aren't good enough to make their extra possesion count. A city team wirh aguero would of won that game. Losing their best player, and probably the best player in the league, is huge for them.
No it was the tactics. Man utd best games this season come with our lowest possession. Possession means very little. Most of the games we lost this season we had most of the ball and even chances.
Man city yesterday were schooled like against dortmund who also made man city look like a pub side at the etihad which man city got a free penalty to equalise but that game could have been at least 6 or 7 even 10 for dortmund. Chelsea did even better then dortmund that game defensively wise and attacked in a same manner.
