"Jeepers! How low have Derby fallen? From the giddy heights of your grandiose Premier League season, to thanking, yes thanking a manager for cutting you adrift and keeping you aimlessly bobbing around mid-table for five years!
As an illustration of just how bad he was, his successor, who is a manager with a proven track record of being appalling, is ameliorating him."
Even changing "him" to "them" makes no sense. Having referred in your comment to Derby as "you", the only option was then to continue this and say "ameliorating you". It would still have been a terrible use of a word with which you are clearly embarrassingly unfamiliar, but it would at least have been slightly better than your first or indeed your second attempt.
Teach us some geography, Strett!
ameliorate
əˈmiːlɪəreɪt/
present participle: ameliorating
1.make (something bad or unsatisfactory) better.
Seems acceptable to me.
I will in future stick to text speak; you may understand it better. Innit.
Ameliorate does indeed mean make something better but ameliorating them is worse than text speak. It is good to know that your English is as awful as your maths and science. My offer of remedial work is still open.
Back to the article... I realise more and more how much I do not miss NC and his fat mates. Admittedly they're an a bit of a cup run ( I believe it took him 3 seasons to win a cup match with us!) but they are still 2nd bottom.
After their latest 3-0 drubbing at the weekend he has been publicly slating his players again.
I genuinely wish him well but do not miss his style of play, lack of footballing nouse, qualifications, scouting network, and management 'skills'.
Baz it must of done some good. They beat Fulham last night
Beating Fulham's almost as easy as beating Man U this season though Wassa!
I was being sarcastic 666
Wassa, it's a good job he doesn't know who 'Baz' is... I see him every Sunday morning on Eyes Meadow in Duffield!
Duffield?
I love the Viceroy. Best Indian bar non.
A tad pricey Strett. Try Spice Village around the corner.
Comes highly recommended, trust me
The naan breads at the Viceroy are to die for though; also if it's pricey it keeps the riffraff out
