Comparing attendances from 74 to now is null and void. Different era, different times, different circumstances. Only people from Manchester went to watch United in the 70s, you have more now due to trains, car and planes becoming a better quicker service, meaning people can travel, add into the fact Manc is much larger than Bolton.

During the 70s, if you wanted to watch football you HAD to go to the games, there was no highlights system, no sky sports news, no Internet, nada. MOTD once a week and it wasn't very long. Now people who dnt live in Manchester can support United because there are 24 live MUFC PL games each season, not to mention champs league, fa cup, league cup on top o that. Bolton's largest ever home attendance is 69,000. But again totally different era when you HAD to go to stadium to see it. TV exposure means you can now watch a team you live nowhere near meaning if you support United, or City but live down south o you support Chelsea but live in Burnley, but you are a glory hunter. And that's it.

But dnt compare attendances from 70s to now, it's like comparing carpet to oil, no relevance now.

Moses'-SWA (U2460) Finally, a decent Bolton fan who calls it how it is rather than hiding behind a barrage of myths. I just wish some of these tubes on here had called me a glory hunter when i stood at Burnden around Christmas time in 78?, may have been 79? after we were trounced 3-0 off you lot. You also beat as at Old Trafford that same season, in front of a 50,000 crowd. All glory hunters from the South no doubt

Me thinks thou dost protest too much 19! If not, get off your flippin' high horse! You're on the Bolton board and we are responding to the Peterborough Manc glory supporter, who will no doubt jump ship when City start winning everything!

Just Another Holdsworth, fair enough, and Reebok Rowbot, is he the one from Salford, was he called breadman on the other board or something?

Oh, no 19!

No, he is one of a kind. He calls ALL United supporters glory hunters, without knowing anything about them

You'll love him!

Ah right, any chance he could stand by the away turnstiles for next months game, and see his stereotypes get blown apart....and what about that breadman fella, he still about? He used to make me laugh...sometimes.

Mr Breadman still shows his face every now and again.

As for United fans in Peterborough, I can tell you there are loads of them. And barely any have ever been to Old Trafford they just like to brag when the win.

In other words the are glory fans.

And before 19 TIMES or anyone else calls me up on that, I live in Peterborough.

WanderersForever, you're right, and they are complete nipples. But they've got nothing in common with myself or the many other thousands upon thousands of United fans who live in Manchester and make the effort to go to every United away, so don't group us all in together.

What a lovely ending...

Anyway, we have City on Sunday and I dont know about you guys but I am really really excited. First home game of the season and I work with a few City fans who are talking like they have the pl and cl in the bag and need to be tought a lesson.

So the question is does anyone fancy our chances? I need some positive feedback because I am secretly bricking it.

Don't intend to 19 TIMES. I went to University in Norwich with a lad from Manchester who was a life long, die-hard Red.

Its just that unfortunately for the likes of him and yourself, most of Essex also happen to "support" United.

Can't see them doing to us what they did last night. Swansea were new to the PL, and don't have a centre of midfield as good as ours. If we can nick the first goal, I think they're beatable. If they score, they'll sit it out quite easily I think

Don't forget what happened last time Augero came up to the Reebok either

Played Man City on FIFA 11 today (I was Bolton) and we won 2-0 so judging by that I think we'll win

Damn, I'm glad I'm not a Man Utd fan.

Funny thing is, I get 2 'theatre of dreams' matchcards, from a business associate, every season for the Bolton game in North Stand Lower right on the half way line.

I take a very good red mate of mine and it is the only game he gets to go to all season because he cant be bothered getting off his azz & joining the membership scheme where he would get a ticket for 1 in 6 games.

We're both from Salford, yet he would rather watch Manyoo games in the pub like most other Manyoo fans I know.

Who the hell is filling OT?

I notice alot of coaches from cumbria and kent in and around the M60 on match days. I have also noticed an increased number when Citeh are playing. These glory fans dont half catch on quick

19 your English is excellent well done. Your right no one will sway the loyalty you have for your foreign team. Please don't pretend you live in Manchester though. A little embarrassing! If you did you would know city fans live in Manchester. But I wont be prejudge you as your always going to lose on the loyalty of people from the local area argument with Bolton fans. That's why I am surprised you keep coming on the bolton board. In terms of intelligence I don't know how equivalent qualifications are in your country to my degree therefore I can say who is more intelligent.
