Toni Valencia is the fastest player in Europe apparently.
Don't need pace, we need tempo, smart movement play through the middle and pass to feet. I don't think moyes knows what any of that is.

Agree.
We've got top players who are fully capable of playing great one-touch attacking football, especially through the middle.
But Moyes just sticks to the tried and tested wing play, which is all well and good if our wingers were above average.

mata yes, Kagawa probably.. who else?
you have Mata, Kagawa, van Persie, Rooney and Carrick with technical ability.

Also Rooney,RVP,Welbeck,Nani and even Cleverley have produced great, intelligent one-touch play.

RVP, Januzaj, Rooney (ish, first touch is 50:50).
Plus you have ok players that can join in Young, Welbeck, Nani.
And before you slag off Nani, if we were playing narrow and he wasn't asked to hug the touchline and just cross then he would link up very well with the rest.
I would be tempted to play a 4-3-3 and ditch van p and play rooney up top with mata and adnan either side. Only problem is you dont have 3 top quality centre midfielders and as you said moyes maybe doesnt have the knowledge required to play this system.
hardly Xavi Iniesta and Messi is it
When Januzaj plays he adds a certain urgency and directness we have in no other player. He has shades of Hazard about him and we are in diabolical need of a player in his ilk, I just think he's too young to rely on week in week out.
We have spent a fortune on Mata who in the right system is quality, but he's the wrong fit for us at the moment and ring used horrible wrong.
We have a mix and match of players who suit different styles yet Moyes keeping picking the only formation and tactic which will never work with this set of players,

Well of course it isnt but then again who is.
The problem is we have greater potential of playing good football than we've seen this season.

Mata, Januzaj and Kagawa could all play this way.
------------Rooney
Mata---Kagawa---Januzaj
OR
------------Van Persie
Mata---Kagawa---Januzaj
There's so many combinations to play with those intelligent players up front.
Seriously, what Klopp/Martinez/Pochettino/Arsene/Laudrup could do with those.
We've got lots of pace in the side, just not enough quality or tactical acumen.

A couple of decent CMs and this team, on paper, is scary.
After watching the shambles today though, I just don't really see us getting anywhere with Moyes. Tactically we are clueless at the moment, and that's down to him I'm afraid.

I'd love to know what exactly United do in training.

And for me that is more to do with the way we set up rather than individual faults with our CBs.
Vidic and Rio atm are liabilities but I have complete faith in the other 3. Once those 2 are gone and we bring in another one, I'd be happy with our CB options.
As I said though, regardless of the players at our disposal, I'm getting more pessimistic by the week about Moyes' ability to get the best out of them.

so am I. Big time.
Im also pretty convinced now that Moyes will never 'get it right' at United, no matter how much he spends and who he gets. He will be just another failed Man United manager. (We have only ever had 2 managers at United who have succeeded so I dont know why some United fans think that if we just wait a while it HE will make it get better).
Its just a matter of how long the board give him to prove me right.
However, I think Moyes is a decent guy and when he knows the game is up I think he will walk.
