At LFC the general consensus is that indeed Andy Carroll is not worth 35m. If you are looking for the reason for this price look no further than the even more obscene fee paid by Chelsea of 50m for Torres which gave us the money to spend on Carroll and Luis Suarez. To us those two players for one Torres on his current form seems like a fair deal.
